Today's MTG Arena Announcements from the mothership, https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/magic-digital/mtg-arena-announcements-october-27-2021, strongly hint that two card names in Crimson Vow are Olivia, Crimson Bride and Sorin the Mirthless. Guess Olivia could be the Vampire Noble, but it really looks like she won't be in the duo card (I'm still betting on Hal and Alena or Ludevic and Olag).
Or maybe Thalia and Saint traft.
Btw the “A legendary character returns, but now as a vampire” could be a Sorin legendary creature… On other hints Maro uses “Lengendary Creature” but with this hint he specially said “Legendary Character” well, planeswalkers have now the legendary type, and if sorin loses his spark and is printed as a legendary creature, then he would be a Vampire this time…
Also the obvious guess for the mechanic is Bloodthirst
Well thats some references to the old modern Death Shadow deck lol. (You played death shadow+ the white avatar that costs 2 if you have 3 life, and then could use a 1b card that you sac a creature and deal dmg equal to it toughtness and gain that much life). This card would probably see play in that deck.
Wait Tavern Rufian is a woman? damn girl, they did you wrong
Candletrap is good.
Might of the old ways good card, don't like to think too about the flavor as it makes it seems like old Innistrad (before avacyn) could handle pretty well the horrors of the world (when in fact we know this to be false).
Tovolar is kinda good.
Jadar is good for sacrifice decks, kinda like a cheaper Ophiomancer.
Wilhelt has combo potential with things that makes you create other types of tokens(plus a conspiracy effect) or removes abilities from tokens, etc. If you want to run a BUG or WUB deck focused around tokens, then Conspiracy+Chatterfang, Squirrel General or Divine Visitation +sac outlet.
Also lategame lands or late fast lands... Looks good imo.
Sigarda is ok, not super good for competitive old formats tho.
Also hope the legendary Disturb creature isn't a known one (with other legendary cards) would hate if they did Thalia wrong.
Humm just noticed the If a player played (or didn't) 2 spells in their own turn.
Yeah, werewolfs gonna stay around transformed way more this time. For those that don't remember the old mechanic: "At the beginning of each upkeep, if no spells were cast last turn, transform Huntmaster of the Fells.". with the old mechanic you could play a instant on your opponent's turn to make sure their werewolves didn't transform. Well thats a improvement over the first werewolf/transform mechanic (for the werewolf player).
As of now the old versions will still enter in their daytime form, however once they do transform they will be in sync with the new cycle system.
Wrong, if you don't play a spell on your turn but your opponent plays a instant, then all the new werewolf will transform (nightbound) while the old ones will keep being humans.
If Arlinn costed 3 (1RG) she would be playable beyond standard and commander.
Green Legendary creature gonna see some standard play with finn (the 1G death touch legendary from kaldheim).
About the Day/Night card i hope it only enters play after you play a transform card otherwise you would need to keep track since turn 1, and yeah, not good.
"two popular mechanics previously seen on Innistrad return": One of them's Flashback.
I'm currently betting that the "Each instant and sorcery card in your graveyard has" card has that sentence end with "flashback" and, a la Past in Flames, be a 6-mana mono-red enchantment.
Would curse and Double faced cards (werewolf text) be classified as mechanics?
<type> horror? I instantly think of Eldrazi hybrids but they're supposedly not a thing this time around so it's probably your "typical" horror type non-Eldrazi.
Would not mind if this horror was a being that was transformed by the diminished influence of Emrakul in the innistrad moon, could be cool having a throwback to that (soo it is not totaly forgoten) with a flavor text like "Its been years since the battle in Tharaben but from times to times we are reminded of the terror lurking in what was once the heron's moon" or something like that
• a character from Innistrad once mentioned in a short story finally gets a card in an Innistrad set
where is our kraken/leviathan/octopus/serpent lover?
We can now have more hope for god/horror Yawgmoth soon, maybe in Dominaria United
Maybe Brother's war, think dominaria united will be present day dominaria, but i can be totally wrong, and don't mind if i do.
BTW in Brother's War we will have another shot on a Gix card (and is probably the only place they will be able to print it as the suplemental products gonna be UB)
Not only is this the first Yawgmoth quote we have on a card -- this is, if I'm not mistaken, the first depiction of Yawgmoth that we have in his world-scouring death cloud form (Vindicate and Last Stand don't count). This looks to be Yawgmoth as he emerges at the climax of Apocalypse, his shadow casting death over Dominaria.
Yawg in Vile offering is hin in his phyrexian god/plane form, he is refering to Yawg in the Death cloud form (from when he invaded dominaria at the mid of Apocalipse). He took the form of a cloud that would kill anyone that got engulfed by it. Thats basically Toxic Deluge card and art.
The walkers have good art but having pre legend text rules on them is soo ugly, hard pass because i like the walkers (and they are good and in tier 1 decks)
All the other secrety lair looks to have good reprints, need to see the art but the "reanimator"(?) one looks nice (spellskite, ob, sliver overlord, etc are good)
like Magiqmaster said: Witchbane Orb from og Innistrad

I m kinda confused with those hints

wonder if it is Runo Stromkirk

Shocklands == Ravnica only (mostly likely)(as they will need something to hype the return to return to return to return to ravnica)
lel

Also, the kamigawa one has Toshiro umezawa, Heartless Hidetsugu and Kami of the crescent moon from what i can see. What was the green character from the Kamigawa novels? (judging by mana cost there are a few that fit: Reki, the History of Kamigawa Azusa, Lost but Seeking Isao, Enlightened Bushi Shisato, Whispering Hunter or Kodama of the Center Tree)(guess it is Reiki)
