Sep 26, 2018jshrwd posted a message on The Limited Archetypes of Guilds of RavnicaSurveil and Undergrowth have such a great synergy that I almost think you have to try to play Sultai if you're looking to go black at all.Posted in: Articles

Sep 25, 2018jshrwd posted a message on The Limited Archetypes of Guilds of RavnicaPlaying simulated pools, Golgari's mechanic has felt really clunky. It's almost as if it doesn't have enough stuff to actually enable it. The "creatures in graveyard" mechanic almost begs you to play more than the traditionally-recommended number of creatures, so that you can engage via creatures instead of spells as a way to fill your graveyard.Posted in: Articles

Dec 18, 2017jshrwd posted a message on MTGSalvation's Deckbuilder is Here!As a 100% casual player, I wouldn't use this deckbuilder for the following reasons:Posted in: Articles
1. No privacy restrictions. I don't want comments/feedback, and people don't want my crappy, formatless deck lists to show up in their searches. So I look for places that let me use their tool without having to expose my content to others.
2. No playtest functionality. I don't have a lot of people to play with. Being able to load up an environment where I can roughly simulate some plays with the decklist are critical for my evaluation of whatever pile of crap I've put together.
Outside of the better site quality of MTGS, I don't see anything here to make me switch from TappedOut.
By all means, I'd love to be wrong. Let me know if I overlooked functionality. -

Absolutely. Fantastic writing. -
Sep 27, 2017jshrwd posted a message on Who is the Raven Man?Yes, it was long, but I think it was fantastic and entrancing. Great stuff and thanks for the hard work.Posted in: Articles
Have you seen how many coincidental overlaps there are with your write up today and the new Ixalan story, "The Shapers"? Barriers, Guardians, spells that seek out artifacts containing spells that prevent planeswalker travel to (or maybe from) a plane? -
Sep 11, 2017jshrwd posted a message on Changes to MTGSalvation User AccountsI find the irony of you complaining about companies not caring about security in a post where a company explains why they are taking steps to make your information more secure to be very delicious. Very delicious indeed.Posted in: Articles
For what it's worth, I work in the tracking infrastructure that you're lampooning. I can assure you that we have long since moved on from logins and other cookie-based identifiers. Everything is about devices now, since you can't delete your device ID. So don't worry about this merging. The stuff you're concerned about has already happened and was out of your control. -

He controls her contract that she thought she’d freed herself from when she killed the demons.
Evocative story presentation and the music was just fine.
Man, AMP is annoying with how it hijacks links

I think this is the most simple and obvious reasoning, as well
Or, at least, "lots of them lose their PW spark"
Yes. If you had the card, you got a new Mythic Wildcard.
If you buy the packs, you get Omniscience now instead.
heh if that happened, each PW would be called "Redshirt #X" and would die at the beginning of each combat
you know... for flavor
I haven't won any events, but Distortion normally comes down on T5 and then I'm sort of the power police for which ever deck is trying to get out in front.
I think that's what they are referring to when they talk about the annoyance of getting countered.
The main thing keeping me from winning these matches is that I'm playing 4-man pods every time.
I simply cannot take everyone out before someone takes me down.
So I'm cautiously optimistic that they are saying they are okay with Annihilator. It should make me more competitive with what I already have in place.
Otherwise, I was going to have to make some overhauls. There are just so many go-wide tokens decks. It's awful for my current deck list.
I don't think its his level of excitement drawing attention here, but, rather, the focus on Modern.
There's so much hope for a direct-to-Modern product.
:-?
Wait, some people got a free box?
