hey so i'm thinking of getting into legacy, would you suggest starting with lands?
Nah, start with something easy on the brain like Death and Taxes.
Oh okay. Wanna help me build it? You seem like you're quite knowledgeable in this game called magic. Actually maybe we can meet up some time and you can show me the ropes
As a girlfriend of a certain owner of a lands deck, I have to say I've learned to understand Magic for what it is and what it means to him. I have gone to a couple of card stores to see him play in action. It is pretty exciting to see him play his combos and win, and a piece of me dies when he loses :(.
I do understand how it can feel like a century to wait for the significant other to finish. What I've done in the past is bring something to keep me busy. I'm a nursing student, so I'll have plenty of reading material to keep me busy while he owns his opponents with his thespian stage-dark depths combo
I do try to be mindful of the rules and not to be a distraction when I watch the game. I haven't had anyone tell me that I was a distraction to be honest whenever I show a little bit of affection/support. The only distraction I've seen first hand is when a bystander kept on asking if he could see the card in the middle of a game. I know better to do something like that.
1. Unless you're a licensed healthcare provider, it isn't your responsibility to discuss the prognosis with your friend.
2. Like what everyone said, the only thing you can do is be a supportive friend. Therapy for anxiety/depression and pain management might be good for your friend. I'm only a nursing student so I can only speak from what I'm learning at school, but nonetheless it sounds like professional help is needed. You can always go to a school counselor for advice? It's great to go to mtgsalvation for moral support, but there's only so much we can say to help you out
Hey I hated magic in the beginning, but at some point I picked it up because I wanted to understand my boyfriend better and also I was lonely at the time. I'm still a noob at it, but I think my boyfriend has been really happy ever since I took it up lol

Oh honey you know I don't have the patience for legacy haha
There's hope
There's two foils I believe. Haha and he got me a leather case for my deck. I better learn how to play it well now
