Hey all! I played infect to a less than stellar finish at SCG TN Regionals how do we square up the Grixis and Delver matchups I found them perticularly hard and I was wondering how you all felt about them? Also how do we beat Eldrazi going forward? Are more unblockable cards like distortion strike an Slip Through Space needed?
Anyways here is what I ran, Geist was PHENOMENAL against GBx.
Anyways my wins were to:
Naya Burn
Boros Burn
Abzan
Affinity
My losses were to:
Grixis Control
Temur Delver
Affinity
Goyo Footsteps (got him to 9 poison game 3 and he killed me)
So I went 4-4 and drop. I think the entirety of the high tables were the eldrazi deck(Gerry T and BBD cleaned house), burn, and affinity. What do you all suggest for me to change going forward?
@Tipsygiggle I tried it before and my manabase cannot support firewalker since i'm not a traditional burn deck, but rather I'm Sullivan Zoo. I think I might try a 1 of Fallout over the second command due really only needing 1 command and like you said the only time I need it is the mirror, but I expect 4/8 rounds I will play at regionals will be against Burn.
You have the same number of white sources as other naya lists. 15 is more than enough. Also if you expect that much burn I would cut the mutagenic growths. The 2 life is expensive. Searing blaze and helix is where you want to be squaring off against burn.
You see when you play Kird Ape you functionally need more green sources otherwise you have 8 dead cards in your deck, I do however agree with cutting 1-2 growth probably will be replacing those with lava spikes.

@Tipsygiggle Well here's the thing about Kird Ape; it's either really good or really bad. However it is also the easiest card to sideboard out typically when I take it out I bring in 2 Lightning Helix and 2 hate cards typically path against most big dude decks. I would take out Dromoka's command, however it is just a blowout in the burn mirror, and I have not lost a game to burn where I got to dromoka's command a boros charm/bolt and put a counter on a dude.
Cross posting this in the Burn and Zoo threads
Ok assume the meta is Infect, Affinity, Tron, Burn, Merfolk, Living End, Storm and GBx. How do you build a sideboard for this metagame?
This assumption revolves around the idea these are the ONLY decks in the room if its not listed dont consider anything for it.
My currrent list is:

Have you all played against Eldrazi with the Oath cards yet? I think I can't be on Nactal and Friends anymore it just makes us so bad in combat I might have to cut the Nacatls and Kird Apes and bring back lava spike and rift bolt.
None of us saw this one coming...As a man who enjoys playing against Twin you have my condolences. I thought of this archtype as the epitome of modern; I guess WOTC didn't share my view.
Sup, Guys I'm here to get my group players for an mtg fight club similar to what craig wescoe used to run for his testing.
Post your name and why you should be added to the group (Notable finishes, Number of major events played in, etc.) Here is the group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/425770160966920/
Check this out it may help you a lot in the Merfolk MU. As for burn, it is a very hard MU for you wild defiance and cheap one mana pumps are the way to go there. Maybe check the Abzan/Jund section of the linked article and learn about the different lines against a removal heavy deck.
Bring Dispel in against control and perhaps Atarka Red and the more controlling Jeskai builds.
Negate is good in the control Mirror and decks that play big finishers like Ugin, I'd say it's playable against Grixis Green and Temur Black
Turn to Frog is good against the midrangey threats. Good against Mardu, Abzan, and Eldrazi Ramp
Send to sleep is good against atarka red
Celestial Flare is for the Dragons and Midrangey Jeskai matchup
Disdainful stroke should be brought in against control and most midrange decks
Monastery Siege is good if your opponents are playing cards like duress or if they seem to draw more than you.
Anyways here is what I ran, Geist was PHENOMENAL against GBx.
