card availability isn't a huge issue...between myself and two friends who would spot me anything I need, I have playsets of everything in standard, it's just about keeping track of what is whos

I'm talking prices on release. as in what they will be in 12 days...and for the first 10-14 days after release I think those prices will be about right, at least in my local scene.

Very valid point...I heard for the complete set they are paying 120, or 60 for jace and 50 for everything else (makes no sense but whatever)

Question is - do they know something we don't?

I don't know exact numbers for our local stores, but I can tell you that the WALMART here sells more than 10 boxes per set.

Also, On release night alone, there are at least 8 people who buy a case here...and multiple others who buy a box or two...with ravnica, the shop was so depleted, people were buying fatpacks on release night because there were no packs/boxes left.

Not entirely sure this is the place for it, but here it goes

our local store is doing a series of 5 tournaments (4 standard 1 modern) with the prizes being the FTV 20s....

What in the blue bloody hell should I play, I haven't played standard since M13 as the endless number of blink thragtusk decks annoyed the hell out of me.

We do have a few good players in our local scene who I will have to rely on outdrawing, because they can surely outbuild and outplay me...

However, we also have a lot who entirely netdeck without ever testing said deck and have NO idea what's going on...

Part of me wants to just go with bant hexproof

Our one store in town that carries FTV (second one doesnt run FNM therefore doesn't get FTV's) has progressively raised their prices on previous sets as their supply dries up...

They got 20 sets, with only 8 being sold (5 being raffled off, 5 being prizes for tournaments)

I know 5 of the 8 are already sold as my group was directly responsible for 4 of those 5...

I agree on the DC and Hymn...while the FTV foiling process is terrible compared to other foils, it doesn't change the fact people WANT it.

Akroma's Vengeance ~5 - I think this card is a LITTLE undervalued, but perhaps spot on due to the multiple printings.
Hymn to Tourach ~20-25, we will see what the pimpers do to this.
Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni ~5
Impulse ~7-10
Gilded Lotus ~10
Jace, the Mind Sculptor ~125-150, going up as more "newbies" become aware of how good Jace is.

Most of these prices are kinda based on the "initial prices" and not where I see them being in the future, a few less useful cards will drop as the collectors get theirs and the excess sits on the market.

Okay - better question - What do you see as the BOTTOM price? Most I talk to believe that the Jace alone will be worth around the same as the WWK non-foil counterpart, so $110-120.

Then you have 19 other cards, which none are "BONKERS", but still solid value to be had.

Just as the title says...what is everyone's speculation on future prices of this set containing Jace, The Wallet Stealer? Price on release? 3 months? 6 months? a year?

I've managed to pick up 3 so far at decent prices, just trying to figure out how long I should plan on sitting on them...

I am HOPING to be able to pick up a total of 3 while spending under 250 doing it.

One store here does not get FTV as they do not run FNM

The other store has not come out with numbers yet.

How does someone not realize the bomb is on the field?

So the short answer I am finding is this, in Blue/White/Colorless, there is nothing else that will shuffle your entire graveyard when it gets milled.

good options for my new deck...for my current...not so much

And see, as soon as my eldrazi hit my graveyard OR my field, they are exiled. every time lol

As the title says, looking for some answers to our group that has taken to playing some mill...

I have Ulamog/Kozilek in the deck already, it is for my EDH deck so Emrakul is not an answer...deck is white/blue...the one I am working on is green/white/blue.

Last Winter, my girlfriend and I were on a random mini-roadtrip and stopped in a few places, just kinda looking around...Walmart, Target, Shopko, and K-Mart...I randomly picked up a few booster packs in each place just outta boredom, as did she...so we aren't exactly sure which packs came from what places, but she had a total of 9 worldwake packs when it was all said and done...

Those 9 worldwake packs contained a foil Jace and a non-foil...

I had 6 worldwake packs...

Literally alternated rares between them, Dragonmaster Outcast and Stoneforge Mystic....nothing quite like her luck, and I remember thinking at the time "Man I got hosed"

In retrospect...Probably some of the best single packs I've ever seen.

Hah I left for like 15 minutes to meet my girlfriend on her way out of town, and BAM, gone...what timing she has.
