    Hi All,

I put together a Rogue take on MBA to take advantage of Morsel Theft which is excellent, especially in activating Guul Draz Vampire and stopping lifeloss from Vampire Lacerator... and so I could literally play a Rogue deck Smile

I like it so far, and MBA in general. For my SB, I have cards to either make the deck more resilient to removal (against any slower deck) or to transform it into a control deck (needed against faster aggro decks).

I like the matchups so far in my limited testing (also, I play on MTGO... but the primer is only here in the paper section). I've run into Delver, Elves, Tron, Hexproof, and Affinity, and so far only Affinity went poorly (but I also made a major mistake in thinking I was faster than them; I'll try to sideboard in as control next time).

I personally do not like Nightshade Stinger. He isn't as good as Tormented Soul so I feel you should make the switch. The problem with Nightshade Stinger is that it can be blocked, where as Tormented Soul flat out cannot. In addition they both have evasion but Tormented Soul has the better version.

I really would include cloud of fairies. Its hard to argue with a free creature. If you have Dimir Aqueduct out, You'll even net one mana. It's also almost equivalent to a creature with flash, in that you can keep counterspell mana open on opponents turn after casting it.

I am actually in agreement about Cloud of Faeries with the Dimir Aqueduct. Netting yourself an extra mana can be very useful indeed.

I would much rather see you use Searing Blaze over Flame Rift. You are already taking damage from Sign in Blood so you don't need to incur anymore. Besides this also gets rid of a creature as-well as damaging the opponent. Not only does it get rid of a creature that has three toughness or below, but it also gives your Kiln Fiend a clear path to attack so long as they're no creatures out.

At first I thought this might actually be a real Boros deck, but you only have one split card. To speed it up why not add Boros Recruit? 1 drop with first strike can set the pace early enough to buy you some time.

Your basic strategy seems exactly the same as an Armored Ascension strategy with the exception of it being Plains rather than creatures. It works well but you're right it is slow. You can speed it up by running some Lotus Petals though.

I know it's not officially out yet, but Searing Blood almost definitely has a place in Peasant Burn in the two drop spot (or at minimum in the side, would you think? Smile

I've got legacy burn built so just a couple swaps and I could play burn in pauper and peasant as well Grin

    gotta love interchangeable, multi-format decks!

Searing Blood will certainly be going into my Peasant version of Burn. It is easier to cast than Searing Blaze but I will run both cards at the same time and flat out eliminate a creature from the deck build. This card has potential staple ability for Burn lists.

So after lots of testing I have embraced needle drop, it lets me run less bad cards. And I ponied up for the chain lightnings (though I bought them in terrible condition, saved a lot there).
    current list

Steamrolling everything put before me. Electrickery is surprisingly good tech, hitting most of the stupid white lifegain cards in one fell swoop. Keep switching back and forth between furnace scamp and goblin fireslinger. Fireslinger is more reliable, but scamp is way stronk.

Goblin Fireslinger is the clear winner here. Whenever you have a "reliant on this" creature, it isn't worth it in my book. Furnace Scamp may have a stronger "potential" hit, but I find him completely outclassed here.

Still putting in work on my "White Metal" Primer, and have contacted others with threads on the deck for collaboration, coming along nicely! Grin

So this is a white equipment primer? Steel soldiers?

Hey I just wanted to let you guys/gals know that I am up to speed with your plans for the primers. Let us know if you get a response from Gumby of CatParty and then we will discuss what to do.

I PM'd CatParty on the 16th so we will see if I hear anything back from him. Though I see he has been on since then.

I can certainly take the Infect primer. I have some decks I can add to it that have been sitting on the back burner for awhile in addition to a cleaner Peasant section.

I will send Catparty a message and see if I get a reply.

I suggest you do the same with Gumby Obermeir.

I sent a message to him and ThatRedWood. They have not read the message yet. Hopefully we will hear something soon.

I see this is a aggro based deck from the looks of it. However could Palace guards have a place in the deck? If you slipped in a ghostly procession into the SB for the aggro match-ups you could completely shutdown their combat phase. Seems a little Timmy, however a 2 card combo that is basically "Answer or lose" is always a good thing to have in my opinion.

I like the combo a lot, but I would say it wouldn't fit into an aggro version of the deck. I would feel more comfortable with a slower pump heavy deck.

No love for renewed faith? Cycling seems so good on a ww deck decause it gives the ca needed to keep playing.

Other cycling cards that could be used are gempalm avenger and marshaling cry.

    Any thoughts?

Regarding Renewed Faith, most of the time people tend to run a recurring life gain such as Suture Priest so a life gain card in most cases isn't aren't their radar. As for the cycling ability I don't really find it useful. Mostly because White Weenie focuses on cheap and efficient creatures and spells. If perhaps I had dead cards in my hand I would find it useful but the entire strategy behind White Weenie is to make everything playable at every single moment.

Gempalm Avenger I can only see use in a soldier deck, not White Weenie. If you check my soldier primer HERE you will see most of the options already have first strike in addition to if I wanted to pay three mana for a pump I could just use Guardians' Pledge.

Marshaling Cry I will give a nod and actually say it would find use in an aggro version of White Weenie or a tribal soldier deck, but not because of the cycling.

Thanks so much! Wow, there really is a lot left to do on these forums!

Is anyone still taking after the Mono-black aggro section? Or is Klinscy still dropping by? I haven't seen him in a while.

Which reminds me: Shoebaka, Shoebaka, SHOEBAKA! Where are you?

And yeah, nice title! What's the story? Was it the mtgs awards?

Klinscy is having some things going on in the real world, I am not sure what though. He was working on the banned card thread but the moderators passed the torch to me since Klinscy said he could not finish it. So whether or not he is coming back I don't know. As for Shoebaka, seriously I miss his input. Frown

The title is my dirty little secret... hehehe

Just so you guys know I have began to work on the zombie primer (finally, I know). You can watch the progress in my blogs if you so wish, and can comment with suggestions. I am still learning about pauper and how things work, so I could probably use the help. I am confident in my deck building ability and overall Magic no-how, but writing a primer for a format you have just started to get in to is still an interesting task.

We can help no problem, I am sure you'll do fine though. Have you played in Pauper tournaments before? I think some people just look at the "norm" of common cards and forget about the rest of the good ones, so that is their downfall when making suggestions or primers.

I also support this idea! I love Primers, especially for Paper Pauper. I feel the more Primers we can get the more diverse the format will look to newcomers and lurkers.

Reminds me that I have to dedicate time to finishing my Delver Primer since I've come into a lot of free time lately.

    I also support this idea!

Also, love the new Title XBM!

That's the idea, get as much new blood in here as we can so we can keep ideas flowing. That's right though, you haven't written a primer yet have you? That would be super if you could knock that out. I still have to finish my Soul Sisters one, though I may put that on the back burner for now and finish up a Gobo primer draft.

Glad you like the new title. :p

I sent a PM to Blackvise concerning our thoughts as he is a global mod, so I figured if anyone has the power to do so it would be him. We should hear something back shortly I would imagine.

I will send a pm to the Blackvise asking for his input. Maybe we can start new threads but transfer all posts to them so we can maintain them. I can do Infect if you want Auras Obermeir.

You are aware that Ruin Ghost is an uncommon right? So this is no longer a Pauper deck. So you need to make decisions based off what you might encounter at the uncommon Peasant level not just Pauper.
