Jan 16, 2014XBM Yosho posted a message on Primer constructionThus far it looks pretty solid. I agree with Obermeir on the inclusion of a Peasant section. It won't be a large section to add but it does give additional options.Posted in: -spooky- Blog

Jun 14, 2013XBM Yosho posted a message on Banned from the casual forum for 2 weeks.I am very much with you Cz on calling people out on bad advice and the like, I do my very best to keep the paper Pauper/Peasant section alive much as you do with multiplayer, I gave it a rules thread, started the Primer sub-section and I actively call people out if they throw something horrid out there. I certainly hope I don't get a vague ban one day because of it.Posted in: Cz Blog

He knows more about the format rules than I do
They are still valid, You can take those decks to a pauper tournament as is. Something you need to ask though (if your playing in a stores tournament) is if the game is paper or online pauper.
Paper - If any card such as Oblivion Ring was printed as a common on paper, it is legal.
Online - The cards you can use are only what they are in the online game, so Oblivion Ring is not usable because it was not common in the online game.
The nice thing about pauper is that sure things do change, but not drastically so your fairly safe.
Everything you want can be found right HERE.
I myself run the white weenie deck and it is my personal favorite, although I do run the infect deck.
I usually like doubling my Goblin Chieftain with Goblin King for the the +2+2 since they are both very cheap cards.
4 Razor Golem
2 Benevolent Bodyguard
1 Doomed Traveler
3 Guardian of the Guildpact
4 Icatian Javelineers
4 Kor Skyfisher
3 Leonin Skyhunter
3 Loyal Cathar
4 Squadron Hawk
3 Suture Priest
20 Plains
Spells (9)
3 Bonesplitter
4 Journey to Nowhere
2 Prismatic Strands
2 Kor Sanctifiers
3 Order of Leitbur
1 Seraph of Dawn
1 Rune of Protection: Red
3 Holy Light
2 Dust to Dust
3 Sunlance
A safe bet is Beasts or Kavu, both offer synergy and huge power so you can "Crush your enemies, See them driven before you, And hear the lamentation of the women!"
I thought about Honor of the Pure, I do run it in my soldier deck, but just to try something different I run the Guardians' Pledge just as you said, surprise; do I have it? maybe not? Worth the risk? I also have a full set of the Armored Ascension, which I did try, but it just makes that single creature a giant target I think.
In terms of protection knights I do have a set or Mirran Crusader as-well as Paladin en-Vec.
My only reservation about Leonin Skyhunter is that it really has nothing special about it. No fetch, no lifegain, only flying.
I would actually like to see a casual spider deck list from you
I am trying to make one in Peasant but I may have to just deal with it in a casual sense.
Within a $50 dollar budget maybe your group could go the route of pauper/peasant?
You can certainly build fun tribal decks in that format on the cheap.
Do you have a specific picture that shows the general idea?
4 Knight Exemplar
4 Knight of Meadowgrain
4 Knight of the Holy Nimbus
2 Knight of the White Orchid
4 Leonin Skyhunter
4 Student of Warfare
4 Brave the Elements
2 Day of Judgment
4 Guardians' Pledge
4 Oblivion Ring
4 Path to Exile
20 Plains
The only thing I am not sure about is the Leonin Skyhunter, I might want to replace him with something else. I know things like Mutavault would help, but price wise I really can't drop that.
This is how it sits at the current moment.
4 Aquastrand Spider
4 Blightwidow
4 Deadly Recluse
4 Sentinel Spider
4 Penumbra Spider
2 Incremental Growth
2 Overrun
4 Giant Growth
4 Prey Upon
4 Wild Growth
Lands
20 Forest
So played through the deck as is, I noticed a few things right off the bat.
1: Zero enchantment removal
2: Slow as F***
Now what do I do? lol
The Sentinel Spiders are great when they come out, but damn it takes forever. I think I need to revamp it into something with fetch lands to put these things down by turn 3-4.
With the inclusion of Wild growth it is better at getting things out, just something still isn't right.
