Garth One-Eye creates copies of certain cards. Where do these copies go? Like, do they just hang out in some out-of-game zone, or can they be interacted with using something like Thoughtseize? If a card like Timetwister makes you shuffle your hand into your library, do the copies get shuffled in too?
Considering we've only had one Dominaria set released after the God type was introduced, I don't think we can say "it never worked like that" (it may very well have worked like that if the God type had existed at the time).
I wonder why the god type didn't exist back then and was introduced only in Theros.
Oh yeah because there were no real gods on Dominaria.
Hypothetically - Let’s say you copy Shahrazad with like sea gate stormcaller, does the copy stay on the stack when the original game resumes or does it go in the new game or does it go into a sub-sub game of magic?
I understand that questions like this are why the card is banned in every format, but I was wondering if there were any actual rules lawyering answers to how copying Shahrazad works.
Also, a PROPER card for Ludevic would be good, not the UR atrocity from Commander.
'Bout time someone else has that opinion. Honestly, I kind of expected Ludevic to be what Grusilda came to be (with less rules headaches of course.) Basically The Mimeoplasm that makes the tokens.
Absolutely! Ludevic is 100% supposed to be Frankenstein, so why not create monsters out of body parts? It made no sense to see him as a creature that draws cards based on damage. They were really struggling to figure out what UR did, and they just said "Oh yeah, damage and card draw!!" I could still see him relating to card draw, or discard, but there *needs* to be some monster-creation aspect to his character.
But yeah, this card is still the first 3cmc creature with 3/2 stats that can do this. Not *strictly* better than all others others, since sometimes you may want your creature to have 3 toughness. And Jhessian Thief *could* get bigger.
I remember from a campaign I designed that there are a bunch of crazy "planes" that I guess run parallel to the main one. Each has it's own theme, as other people have mentioned above. My favorite in the clockwork plane - or the cogwork plane? - which is just a whole world that exists on giant spinning cogs.
That art looks spectacular. Loving the visitation to D&D creature types and races.
Not sure why they're using all these ability words...
'buster
The ability words are just for flavor purposes - we wont see them after this set. These are abilities that exist in DnD, so the design is just attempting to show how these RPG abilities are being translated into Magic abilities.
Thanks!
Svyelun of Sea and Sky begs to differ.

The OG creature with this effect was ophidian

But that seems really bad as a card. I'm hoping the error was the translation *into* Portuguese, and that the actual English card reads differently.
Also, there's no point in pacifying Ragavan. You just cast another one and sac the first, making your opponent look extra dumb.

Yeah, instead of Fight, it should of had the Rabid Bite ability.
