Also he looks like a Trigun character and he's named after a Romeo and Juliet Character, I don't think Wizards Design thought too highly of him either. Maybe if I kept 3 Squees in my hand at all times, then I'd feel a bit better about him. He's just so slow, there are plenty of other red draw/random discard cards that could be just as efficient. And even after his first turn he's still vulnerable to bolt.

Just wanted to share that I've made the changes and the deck is running pretty great. Also, tonight I managed to kick Rite of Replication for the first time ever. It was right after my roommate had just Lightening Bolted my golems and now had the board advantage with 2 Vampire Nighthawks against my two Birds of Paradise. I chumped with the birds, he was now at 6 life I was at 4. Out of cards, I managed to top deck Rite of Replication, had just enough mana to kick it, generated 5 Nighthawks and won the game.

Frankly I think you'd want even more ramping with the amount of heavy CC dudes you're packing. I'd throw in some Birds of Paradise to help out with your blue spell costs. Maybe try to complete the set of Pipers, and look into Forbidden Orchard which could help with Avatar of Might.

-Take out Kavu Chameleon, he doesn't really need to be there.

-Braidwood Cup too, doesn't really fit the theme of the deck, and wastes 3 slots, and 3 mana, that could be spent on big creatures.

-I would slim down your creature selection and try to round them out with 4-ofs. Do you have 4 Thorn Elementals or 2? It appears twice on the list. Pick a few beefy guys you want to piper into play, and maybe a guy like Kavu Titan to help you along while ramping up, then you should be seeing more consistency.

-Also a lot of your blue spells are very expensive, and use up mana you could be using to cast your creatures. I would utilize blue for it's cheap draw and counter utilities, and save the heavy CCers for Green.

Oh man, Shadow Rift, does anyone ever play Dauthi or Soltari anymore? I feel like I'd be bamboozled if I ever came up against them in today's meta landscape, though with Blighted Agent and Invisible Stalker I guess there are more devastating evasive dudes out there now. Soltari Exalted could be a fun weenie deck too.

Anyway, Shadow Rift looks great. The reason I had Leap in the first place was to trigger an Ancestral Recall with the Precursor, but it rarely went off.

The Jhessian was a place holder, I figured if I wasn't drawing Golems I could always beef her up and get in a few cheap shots before Golem came around. But Wing Splicer seems like a much more practical card for the deck, thanks for turning me onto those guys.

I feel like Growth Chamber might slow the deck down a little too much, right now I like that I have constant forward momentum going on. Hinterland is a little out of my budget range for this deck, I just can't bring myself to drop $10 on a single land, I was lucky enough to crack a Dragonskull Summit and Sunpetal Grove in a deck starter kit. Yavimaya Coast seems like a better fit for me.

thanks for the help, I'll look into acquiring those cards,

Thanks for the tips, I do have a set of distortion strikes so I added those in, took out Leap Giant Growth and added two more lands.

The land count was originally pretty low because most everything else in the deck is a 1 drop, and I found, in my play tests, that the birds ramp things pretty quickly. I've never actually bothered to kick the Rite, considering it still yields 5 new golems unkicked.

I would add Veteran Explorer, Tempting Wurm and Howling Mine to the list.

Yeah nothing speeds up a game like rapid card draw. Kami of the Crescent Moon works great for that too. I would take out Mikoro and replace it with either Kami or Howling Mine, save you the 2 mana per draw. Yu could always add both if you wanna get really crazy. Kami also has that trickster grin that seems to be the right flavor for your deck.

Sorry, so I'm curious about this too, and I see that it does work from what you're saying, but I'm having trouble visualizing the stack in my head.

Jinx's ability reads "Sacrifice a creature: Target opponent gains control of Jinxed Idol." So when you sacrifice Kitchen Finks, all of Nis' description occurs, between "sacrifice a creature" and "target opponent gains control of Jinxed Idol"? I guess structurally, following the stack, that does work, but I just feel like it shouldn't be able to, "sprit of the game-wise." If you sacrifice a creature to change controllers of the idol, don't you think the Idol's ability should have to resolve before you can sacrifice another creature?

Once again, I understand that the established rules say otherwise, but personally I feel like if I were to write the rules to my own version of magic, the "Sacrifice a creature: Target opponent gains control of Jinxed Idol" should be one clause that needs to be resolved altogether.

Thanks, that thought just occurred to me after I just posted and I went back to read the card again. That makes things so much less confusing. So if I was running this in a Golem deck, all my different golems in play would be affected by the same spells? That's actually a lot cooler slash more dangerous than I had even thought in the first place.

    Precursor Golem.

Can someone explain to me a detailed breakdown of how this card functions?
I have 1 Precursor and 2 Golem tokens. Now the Golem tokens are basically linked together, they're all equally affected by instants/sorceries, but is the Precursor itself linked to the tokens?

Let's say I use Rite of Replication after casting it (not kicked). If I target the Precursor itself, then I'll now have 2 Precursors, and 4 Tokens? But if I target a Golem Token, then I'll have 1 Precursor and 4 tokens?

And if an opponent targets the Precursor, the tokens themselves don't get targeted as well, correct?

Originally I had misread the card and thought that by replicateing either the token or the Precursor, I'd suddenly have 9 Precursor/Golem cards, but that's not correct. Targeting the Precursor does nothing to affect the tokens?

Thanks for clearing that up, gang. I haven't followed the storyline since the Weatherlight Saga, up till Nemesis. I just spent the entire day catching up on every event from then till now.

long-term plans, stifle, scornful egotist. What's his deal? I don't follow the story much, but considering he isn't even a legendary card, I'm a little confused by his constant popping up in card art.
