Ya know I think I would benefit greatly from a forum feature "Previously On FoS" to play when clicking the jump to end button after being away for some time working on intruding RL stuff
Okay so Naya Humans RGw is pretty damn ridiculous. Its bascially a Gruul list with the white one drops and SB answers. Brainchild of a player at my old haunt, and it can really punish the developing meta. Its a very beat face deck with a Domri Doomsday clock
In the Naya Humans match, are we beatdown or control? My thinking is that even tho we are "aggro" they have more dudes than we do so we kind of get pushed into controlling as much as possible.
Ahhhh feels good to get 1 in pre release, 1 in pre rel prize, 1 in trade for a B Charm and 2 in trade for Temple Garden. Sorry number 5! You are about to become shock lands or a modern staple!
Anyone else experimenting with strong hold + hound? This seems to be pretty beastly out of the board. A 4/4 Vigilance Double striker seems good but a 5/5 Vigilance Double striker, seems flat out mean, considering ya know, life totals start a 20!
Also for anyone looking to get into Legacy for GPs this season, Oops, Spells! seems to be an awesomely fun combo deck. If anyone wants to jam some legacy testing I'd love to put this deck thru its paces.
So is anyone else looking at reckoner the same way we looked at thrag in the beginning? Just go around it or right into it? Yeah it cracks back but aren't we only worried about the last 2 lifepoints? Yeah it can take out another one of your guys but shouldn't we have better guys coming anyway? I'll trade a Cackler with SW for him all day. It seems the biggest scary thing on the other side of the table is the FS mana. If we can force them to be in the position where they have to block with Reckoner when he comes down isn't that beneficial to us?
If we think about it this way can we outplay the opposing reckoner? Wolf also goes right under him just like we had for thrag and the rest.
Is anyone else feeling like the world isnt over if this is on the other side of the table?
hooray! Wanted to play Boros for MTGO GTC pre rel went ORzhov after placing well in paper, should went boros since its only a 16 man field....finished 13th...after 3 drops. 4th round bye! woooo?
I'd be wary of cutting V Strength completely. There are going to be a fair number of decks using Stomping, Crypt and Foundry to branch out or even new decks using said lands. I bounce between running 2 to 3 in the SB, and its turned some race matches into inevitables, sometimes you don't even need to cast it, you just need them to not commit to the board THINKING you have it.
So I was thinking of working with and jamming your build online for some testing this weekend once GTC pops up, as I have a feeling lots of midrange decks are going to show up, which I believe is one of the original targets for this deck. Thoughts on how this deck might be positioned vs Naya, Bant Control, Esper Control, etc?
I mention this because after playing vs some mill decks on MTGO, I found that in a number of games being milled actually INCREASED my chances of winning, but I didn't realize this until AFTER tilting and fearing the deck out and letting my play loosen and put up the loss.
Any chance you can try to illustrate how being milled can actually help us do that last few points of damage? Parameters: turn 8, no hand, 2 mountains+1 cruc on board + wolf, opponent on 4 life.
Think Im going with -1 Dyna +1 PHW
