Jougo turns to the group, holding the piece of wood (that has been on fire as a torch for the whole boat ride obviously) and says, "Will that alligator work for the thing we need? Or should we keep looking?"

As the adorbaphant approached, a shadowy tendril shot out and covered the summon. As it did, the summon seemed to slowly freeze and then shatter.

At Cassie's thoughts, the orb let out what seemed to be light leashes. This allowed everyone to step back and still maintain connection to the orb. Her light treats did pepper the area ahead of the Shade. And it seemed to be 'eating' them.

Jougo does not let the boat go towards the other boat. He tries to keep it as close to the center of the river while avoiding the the other ship as he could. He prepared himself for the inevitable ambush that he would totally plan just around the corner. He also keeps looking for the large reptiles they are after.

"That is highly unfortunate for you. Unfortunately, we have no ability to get you home right now. But, you could probably join us? We are off to go kill a pretend god. I presume there will be lots of good loot. Assuming of course the good Dr. here says it's fine." Kage said as he turned to Dr. Smalls. "This is Vivian deBourgh. He is a cloth enchanter from Sylvan. He does incredible work. Do we have some extra disguises?"

The blade shines pure white. Looking at it directly is rather painful, and it feels warm even from afar. He also notices that his body is indeed covered in a form of Hardlight armor. As he watched, there isn't much he could think would work. The trail was actually darkness overtaking the light of the crystalline walls. As the darkness passed, after a few moments, they did regain their light from the orb.

Kage stepped out of the shadows and puts his weapons away. "Well, hello Vivian. It's Kage. What brings you to this...extreme location?"

Jougo piloted the boat closer. 'Hey, Akane, go send the babies to check it out. See if they can find anything shiny."

As Carter imagined the nets being speared, he was a little shocked to find that it went far better than he thought. At the thought, dozens of spears instantly appeared and speared through every opening in the nets. The light burned through the Shades outward from the impact site, like a leaf lit on fire from the center. As they were all dealt with, the orb seemed to understand the nets were no longer a necessary construct and dissolved them, but left a dome of light over the group. Now that only the large one remained, they could see the walls of the room. They seemed to be some kind of crystal the absorbed the ambient light to glow themselves. As the big Shade drifted around the room like a predator circling prey, he seemed to consume the radiance and leave dark patches behind him. They seemed to take a while to recharge.

"Yeah, he really does. Do you have any ideas?" Illu said as he tried to blast the Shade with castings of Daylight.

The thing seemed to dodge them casually.

Kage readied himself to dodge or attack.

As Carter controlled the webbing to spread outwards, it does. He notices it doesn't destroy the Shades in its current form, but they are being held in small 'cells' of light net as it manages to catch most of them in its sweeping. What he is left with is about a dozen light net pouches of Shades that are squirming with trying to break free; luckily the net is stronger than them. He also notices there is one Shade left outside the netting. It is a rather large and menacing one in fact. It is about 20' tall and occupies half of a wall.

"Uh, no not exactly that. Just don't see people suddenly materializing like that often. And then command instant respect. But, uh what you guys were talking about is rather confusing. What in the world are the Embers? And what are we doing with them?" Riesig asked scratching his head a bit.

"Well, I say we just take the boat. Any objections?" Jougo asked.

As the group presumably all puts their hands on it, and share a memory of theirs, they all share the radiance. Carter's net dome was originally a little taxing on just the two of them, but as more people joined in, it became easier and easier until it felt no more difficult than breathing. The Shades were completely banished from within the now tightly woven net dome.

Riesig continued to just sit there, even more confused than before.
