What's the reason for Atog when your artifact section is so small? There are also some strange inclusions that wouldn't see much play even in very large cubes let alone a 180. Titanic BulvoxMournwelkManamorphoseStornhorn Dignitary to name a few.
Titanic Bulvox was to support a flicker/recursion style deck, likewise with Stonehorn to hose aggro (thought maybe I should have Sporefrog instead?) and the Manamorphose was a hopeful glance in the direction of Storm.
Can't remember why Mournwhelk is in there, though.
I'm considering making a small 180 Pauper Cube for travelling, convenience and playing some casual games with friends. I own almost zero paper, having played almost exclusively online. Given the limited space, there's hard cuts to make and you can't have everything, alas!
I've focused mainly on interesting cards, ones that reward deeper knowledge of mechanics, flexible answers and cards which I personally enjoy playing - there has to be stuff I've ignored or overlooked!
Given a combination of Kiln Fiend, Akroan Crusader & Ground Rift, could we see a resurgence? Perhaps throw in Bushwhacker and RoK/Distant Melody for even more fun?
Because UR Post is making a comeback and MBC is still so prevalent, basically.
I was planning to pick up G/u Elves next week, after getting a cheap laptop. The drum/splashed sideboard tech is very tricksy and appealing ~ for the same reasons OP mentioned.
Cycling is instantaneous and uncounterable (as it isn't an activated ability/an actually cast spell), so you just cycle Resounding Thunder for 6 Damage a pop.
So I just started playing Pauper a few days ago and I'd like to try doing a Daily Event or two. Anyway I have mono green stompy and UR NivixFiend built right now, just wondering which one you guys think would be the better choice, as I have almost no experience with the format or knowledge of the metagame right now.
Cheers
My advice would be to practice extensively with either deck before hopping into a daily.
Personally, I think Stompy would be a much better choice than UR Fiend - the second is very vulnerable to high quality of removal which pervades the format; especially two of the most played SB cards - Hydroblast & Pyroblast. Also, in a Snap based metagame (MU Faeries & MU FissurePost make up a solid ~35 - 40% of the meta), relying on singular non-hexproof creatures to pump through damage is iffy.
Stompy is also arguably more 'tuned' - there are multiple posters on this forum who've done very well with it; I'd suggest reading as much of the primer and thread as you can stomach - no need to do it all in one go!
Edit: don't quote me on this, but I believe Stompy has a better Delver MU, and given the possibility of a banning of Temporal Fissure is the next wee while (and subsequent dropoff in 8Post decks), it's probably preferable to invest in.
I've always thought that Familiar Storm was a pretty cool deck - especially prior to the banning of Warrens/Grapeshot; it has a lot of moving parts and tricks which make it quite interesting to play.
The idea with having a split, I presume, is to mislead the opponent with regards to how many fetches you're running - make the manabase seems shakier/slower than it really is.
Mental Misstep is a good candidate, as is Remand. Strip Mine would have a huge impact in changing the metagame around Post decks... or Wasteland or even Ghost Quarter.
The issue with cantrips is that you risk getting counterspelled (Manamorph) or outraced by other aggro decks (Stompy, Burn). Add to that, Pyroblast and Hydroblast are also very popular SB cards in Pauper - makes this deck too vulnerable to removal.
As someone from outside the US, I personally regard the man as on par with Vanunu. How anyone can justify dragnet scale invasions of privacy is beyond me.
As someone from a country that just legalised same-sex marriage (New Zealand), though has had legally equivalent civil unions from 2003 (outside of some adoption issues left over from 1950s legislation), it was good to see DOMA struck down.
Myself and most folks over here (who've been following it) are a little confused as to why the Supreme Court didn't invoked full faith and credit with regards to recognition of same-sex marriage in states where it's legal.
My assumption would be that that would be addressed in future case?

The Atog probably needs a hard look though!

But, if you don't like it in the current meta...

It's paper legal - tis perfectly possible to make one using an infinite mana engine and targeted draw. Much easier in Peasant, though!
Definitely, though Strip Mine *was* printed at C1. I had hopes for the Vivids at common for MM, but it didn't happen ;~;
My guess is Mental Mistep, personally - answer a lot of format defining 1 drops, searching and removal.
