Apr 20, 2019When and where can I buy the ebook?Posted in: Magic Storyline
Apr 18, 2019Posted in: Magic StorylineQuote from Perkunas687 »So Maro said the Eternals kill when they despark someone. We have a 'Despark' card with two big Eternals apparently desparking 'someone,' but that someone appears later on a card in a different area.
I hope this is cleared up at some point.
Did we ever get any cards that show Jace returning Vraska’s memory and her betraying Bolas? Or any cards of Niv-Mizzet doing something after being reborn?

Especially due to the story elements involved, it would have been neat to see the set in order as the previews were intended.
At least the fate of the big name characters weren't leaked in week one.
I think there were three problematic factors-
some cards leaked out of order from unofficial sources- something we'll always have to deal with (at least it wasn't like NPH)
some cards were oddly spoiled out of order from official sources (after act 2, we started just bouncing around randomly with no coherent storyline)
the plotline itself was predictable and very bland
I was really surprised actually because I assumed Wizards had decided that the amount of planeswalkers in the game had gotten too stuffed and they wouldn't be able to introduce too many new ones without killing off a bunch of old ones, and that they could take that moment to do some kind of radical thematic change like they did with the mending. Instead, its like the writing in TV shows where everyone gets back home in the end, except for 3 out of like 50 characters who get the axe.
I mean geez, when apocalypse ended the brothers/weatherlight sagas, everyone died. You either had to be off-screen or karn or you died, all the rules were thrown out, everything after that point started fresh. Every main character, even the godlike ones and the ones wizards used as their chief branding characters like urza, got decapitated and killed and then brought back to life and then extra-super killed to make sure they're absolutely dead, and the writers threw in explicit guarantees that death was permanent.
Captain Sisay, Squee, Tangarth, Teferi, and Multani did not die. The next set took place in the future where presumably Captain Sisay and Tangarth died of old age, but Squee, Multani, and Teferi are still around. Darigaaz died(twice), but he gets reborn.
I wanted more deaths also, but it makes sense that they keep the most popular walkers alive. The walkers who died are easily replaced by other walkers of the same color.

I'm thinking of buying this deck, but I want to exclude the expensive cards like the moxes and crypt, imperial seal, wheel of fate and duals.
Do you have some suggestions what to put in for it?
I’m not ISB, but I’ve been playing this deck and I don’t have any of those crazy expensive cards. These are cards that aren’t in ISB’s list that have worked out well for me:
- Impact tremors
- Throne of the god-pharaoh
- Smuggler’s Copter
- Vindictive Vampire
- Bold Impaler
- Vampire Neonate
- Adanto Vanguard
- Asylum Visitor
- Bishop’s Soldier
- Child of Night
- Gifted Aetherborn
- Martyr of Dusk
- Stormkirk Condemned
- Vampire Hexmage
- Caves of Koilios
- Sulfurous springs
- Blackcleave Cliffs
- Concealed Courtyard
- Dragonskull Summit
- Isolated Chapel
- Tainted Field
- Tainted Peak
- Temple of Malice
- Temple of Silence
- Impact tremors
Apr 16, 2019Posted in: Magic StorylineQuote from AUTUMNTWILIGHT »Yeah but she did that all to herself. She has no friends cause she was a monster. She is in her certain situation cause was dumb. She made a deal with Bolas and 4 Demons and didn't think it go bad?
None of her recent Heroics have been altrustic. I mean Bolas stuffed Lesherac into a time rift that doesnt make him a hero. Much like Lili isn't a hero for killing Demons to get out of a deal she doesnt like and turning on Bolas cause she doesnt like being controlled. She is not doing cause she is good she is doint it cause it helps her.
Define grossly evil cause I think what she did to Thalia was pretty gross.
A Mary Sue is the smartest person in the world. You calling her dumb proves that she isn’t a Mary Sue. Mary Sues also always save the day, and would never do anything grossly evil.
Apr 16, 2019Posted in: The Rumor MillQuote from idSurge »Quote from Crypt Rat »Welp. I was expecting all these new young walkers (and specifically Domri, who we met as a child) to be the focus of the story after this all settled out. That's apparently a big nope.
On the other hand, maybe this is a way to clean up the saturation of planeswalkers in RG.
They should quit flooding the colour pair then, stop feeding us creatures based designs that are insanely dull...
They should give us a RG Kavu Legend instead of a 6th RG planeswalker.

Of that 30% the odds of hitting 2 or more of the named card is 3%. Barring some kind of Relentless Rats, Persistent Petitioner decks breaking out a 4 mana walker that draws one third of a card each turn it pretty awful. It's not even in the Dimir colors where you can stack the stop of the deck with Surveil and have all the entering the GY from the deck cards that matter.
You could name island or forest. You could name a god card after it goes third from the top, like zombie Kneft or zombie Rhonas. You can play mission briefing with her. You can play her in a BUG(Sultai) deck. You can do her -3. You can play her to shut down Liliana of the veil.
This isn’t the greatest card ever, but it has plenty of utility.
Apr 9, 2019All of the Boros are attacking with Frontline Medic, so none of them can die. 😉Posted in: Magic Storyline
In all seriousness, I think the gameplay works well with the lore here. Most externals are 4/4s, and would be able to kill the weaker members of the guild, but would get wrecked by other, like Dragons, Angels, Demons, Wurms, Sphinxs, ghosts, Gorgons, Ogres, Horrors, and Hydras. The externals May have experience, but they’ve never fought a weird before. Also, the enternals can get bottlenecked through the portal, and Ravnica has plenty of firepower to throw at a bottleneck.
In the end I’m not sure how much it matters because it looks like Bolas will lose by betrayal.
Apr 9, 2019I’m building a version also, but with a lot more 1 drops. Every instant or sorcery spell lets you draw a card and deal a damage with Niv, so the goal is to cast as many as possible with him on the field. I’m going to run these cards:Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
I don’t know how good Firemind’s research is because it requires us to sink mana on it, and with all the cards we’re drawing, I’m not sure how much mana we’ll have left over, but I guess we can active it at the end of an opponent’s turn. I think a card like Guttersnipe or Young pyromancer may be better because we play them and don’t have to sink any mana into them, although I guess they are easier to kill.
What do you guys think of Gilded Lotus? It allows us to hold up mana for a counterspell on turn 5, and turn 6 cast our commander plus a spell that cost 1 mana. For the rest of the game it gives us 3 more mana.
I also think these cards would be good for the deck:
Charisma allows us to take control of a bunch of creatures with Niv, and unwind, rewind, and snap are cast for “free” while also setting off instant triggers.
Apr 8, 2019NZB2323 posted a message on Decks that start out focused and end up with split goals...I created a cleric tribal deck with Tymna the weaver and Ravos, soultender, and it has too many themes: aggro, lifegain, sacrifice, and control. I built it to be less competitive that my other decks, but I still want it to feel streamlined and “go off” well.Posted in: Commander (EDH)
