so i been playing a RDW and been blown out by anger of the gods and supreme verdict, so i been splashing white for boros charm to protect my creatures and i feel i got to a nice place with the deck and fanatic of mogis can definitely win games, and i'm not in love with dynacharge or act of treason as they suck without the perfect board state. im looking at aurelia's fury main deck. it gets through the board stall's and gives me a late game option... am i being ridiculous?
been playtesting this all day. its fast. almost too fast. if i could fit more scry in this deck i would. i almost want to throw the scry duals in here just for late game scry...burning-tree emissary into magma jet turn 2 to blow up a blocker and set up the next two draws is ....so perfect, turn 3+ using burning tree to pump firedrinker is awesome.
so i was wondering, Purphoros or Fanatic of Mogis as my curve topper in a Young Pyromancer deck.
both have merits, one has damage to the face and leaves behind a good body, the other replaces dynacharge's effect, but neither triggers Young Pyromancer.
i guess a curve topper has to be considered late game, but with 22 lands, i feel i can cast it turn 4-5 consistently if drawn...and 4 sources of scry should be enough to get me there....
second question is should i use plains or the boros scry lands...
i run a completely diffrent version of geist, moreso as a voltron style deck. i have to do a little more work on the lands and drop the dovescape, maybe add another counterspell...
im a vegas local so if anyone has any question about locations or food or whatever the **** you could possibly have questions about just ask away. here or hopefully in the facebook group.
most of the slivers are 2 drops to ensure you can cast and drop multiples very quickly, with heart sliver, gemhide sliver, sinew sliver and muscle sliver being the main work horses. gemhide lets you empty your hand when used with heart sliver very fast. crystalline is amazing at stopping targetted removal like path or swords...(this is a modified legacy deck) might not need the crystalline so much.
has the amoebid changling and sliver overlord combo that can be used to steal a griselbrand or Bob etc.
some tutors in demonic and vampiric, could stand to use more.
shadow gets you past any foreseable obstacles.
coat of arms is usually cast as you swing for the win. not usually a problem going against other sliver decks...and if your opponent has the ability to cast some empty the warren nonsense, well...dont cast it i guess. (interchangeable with sliver legion but easier to cast... with caverns and whatnot)
patriarchs bidding helps against a sideboarded board wipe.
the land is where i feel i could use a bit of ... fine tuning.
im scared to throw in mutavaults in case i get mana screwed, but i might not be against nythkos.
