By the way, it wouldn't go infinite with the original wording (from the DCC thread) - even if it sacced itself and returned during an upkeep, it would be too late for the upkeep trigger to hit again.
It wouldn't go infinite with itself, but it could go infinite with something as otherwise benign as Nantuko Husk without a parameter.

I tried that but...
...so after doing some research on Hydras, I was happy to find that the perception that...
...isn't necessarily the case, even though I too thought it was until finding that 1/3 Hydras don't use counters at all: Sprouting Phytohydra, Progenitus, Phyrexian Hydra, Khalni Hydra, and Hydra Omnivore.
I thought of this very thing also and toyed with it, but in the end found it to be clunky.
