Creatures: I'm loving Snapcaster Mage in this deck. There's just so much fun stuff he can do. Restoration Angel just wasn't working for me, and Sigarda is proving to be an all-star.
Spells: Nothing too crazy here. Syncopate wins games. If I'm playing zombies I'll side out 2 Supreme Verdict for the other 2 Terminus.
Planeswalkers: I've found this to be the most efficient lineup for me. I'm never in a situation where I find myself really wanting Tamiyo that badly, so it just seemed natural to split Tamiyo and Garruk.
I think this is ultimately what I've decided to play. Sigarda is just amazing, and can quickly close out games. Jace will require more testing as I'm not absolutely sold on him yet. Feeling of Dread is great at stalling, and Entreat the Angels adds yet another win condition. I'm not 100% sure that I'm going to keep Farseek, as I'd like to add a set of Think Twice in there in order to fish for miracles on the opponents turn - though I could always remove the detention spheres. That's basically it - if I can fit Think Twice in here somehow, then I'll be happy with this build. It's almost a cross between a control build with huge creatures and a Miracle build. Entreat is just so good at ending the game that I wanted to fit that in the deck.
Basically Feeling of Dread, Thragtusk, Tamiyo, Jace, Terminus, and Supreme Verdict will stall the game out (among other things). Once the mana is there, then I can close games out with Sigarda, a couple Thragtusk + Resto's, Angel of Serenity, Tamiyo ultimate, Jace ultimate, or Entreat the Angels. There's just a nice variety of closers that I have access to. Not to mention the life gain of Thragtusk and Sphinx's Revelation can provide me with extra turns to get everything ready to go.
I'd love some thoughts, especially about where to fit Think Twice in at. I know some will suggest charms, however, I don't particularly care for them. I think they are good, don't get me wrong. I also think they are over-hyped a little, and don't necessarily provide anything that I can't get from another card. Plus, there's no room for the charms.
I just started playing mtgo this week, and I'm having so much trouble trying to decide what to play once the rotation hits. I've tried zombies, which was so boring to me, as it just involved attacking repeatedly. I've tried a Bant deck involving Restoration Angels, Thragtusks, and Geists - this to me was more fun than the zombies, as it involved slightly more complicated play, however it still felt like I was just swinging with creatures left and right, and then deciding when to drop Angel or a counter.
Basically I'm looking for something that's definitely more control oriented, and more focused on maintaining the board rather than just trying to rush creatures at the opponent. Clearly I'm going to end up playing some form of control.
I've been looking at either:
-UW Miracles
-Bant Control
-UW Control
I just can't make a decision, so I was hoping somebody that's been playing longer than me could help give me an idea of the play style behind each deck, and whether or not you actually believe it could be tier 1 when the format hits. I understand there's been no tournaments yet, however, I don't want to build something that ends up being tier 2, as I would just be rebuilding again.
