I'm not competely sure that image they showed is actually the bruna/gisela hybrid. It looks like it has a pair of demon wings instead of two pairs of Angel wings?
So, when should the multiple orders be cancelled and restocked?
Looks like last year, they didn't even do a restock - they had to devote all the "extra" that people had double-ordered to filling gaps and replacing defective sets. Two years ago, I think that it was a couple weeks between rounds? I don't remember.
They did do a restock last year. I had gotten my set through a restock about two or three weeks after the first online sale of them.
Wasn't there a limit posted in previous years? I don't see a limit anywhere this time?
I emailed them regarding the issues with ordering and if there would be a restock this time around. They said that they would be canceling any orders that went over their "strict limits" and those would be put towards a future restock in a few weeks. I'm not sure if this means that any one who placed multiple orders will have all of their orders canceled or if just the extra ones will be canceled, but if you did order multiples; I would suggest checking in on it as soon as possible rather than risking having both orders canceled.
Honestly, my biggest gripe is probably the way they are doing pre-release promo cards now. Adding more variance in what you can get means far more people will probably be disappointed with what they get when they open their pre-release "kit". Opening a foil promo equivalent of mage ring responder would probably be the worst of feels.
Don't go for MM15 foils. The quality is really bad and they're darker. The NPH foils of Karn are beautiful, totally worth the little bit extra.
I've noticed that O_O. I got a foiled Hurkyl's Recall that i put in my Nekusar, the Mindrazer deck, that one looks good but i can see why i shouldn't get a Karn from MM2015.
I keep you guys updated if i ever get a hold of the cards im missing.
The Karn i got from MM2015 was extremely dark. If you have the chance, definitely get the NPH one. http://imgur.com/9j8CLPb
The MSRP for DTK was also $25.99 WOTC raised all of their prices for wholesale customers this January. The prepacks are the only product that actually has a raised MSRP as well. Stores that sell MTG have had to take a hit on margins or are forced to raise prices above MSRP. I'm seeing big box stores charge $4.19 for boosters and higher prices for precons and fat packs. This is an issue that players need to be aware of if they want to understand why retail prices are higher and why some game shops are struggling to stay afloat.
And let's be honest that it's been a long time since Wizards straight up raised pack prices.
While they haven't raised pack prices for consumers, pack prices for distributors has increased. This is why big box stores are now charging 4.19 as opposed to 3.99. It is no longer financially feasible for them to carry the product at 3.99 and pay the increased cost of the pack and not increase their own prices. It is actually very likely that pack prices are due for an increase soon(quite possibly for BFZ) from what I have heard from my LGS owner since wizards has increase their prices for distributors about 4 times already since the last MSRP change.
My problem is this is a poor representation of what a woman would look like in medieval england. Where's the pock marks? The pustules? The black rotten teeth? Make up did exist but it was god awful back then.
Any art in a fantasy game is a poor representation of what ANYONE would look like in any time line in any theme. Keyword here is fantasy. Unless the art work calls for it, you probably won't see anyone that has pock marks or pustules for that reason. Magic: the Gathering is, at its core, a fantasy themed card game.
As a side note, Innistrad doesn't take place in medieval England and isn't themed after it either. Innistrad block is Gothic Horror themed, which usually takes place between 1700s to 1800s; about 500-600 years after what would be considered medieval era.
Edit: What I really don't understand is why people get up in arms about women are glamorized in fantasy art, while no one gets up in arms when men are glamorized in fantasy art. I.E.: The majority of men depicted in Theros block art are extremely toned and sport washboard abs.
Since when is Thunderbreak a sleeper pick? Almost everyone has been talking it up since the second that we saw it. And the dragonlords have been talked up quite a bit too (particularly Ojutai and Dromoka, although people have been acknowledging that Atarka is really freaking strong too) - honestly, probably more than some of them actually deserve.
Agreed, but that doesn't mean that they can't be sleeper picks.
About the Thunderbreak, a 4/4 flying for 4 is a heck of a card, and it's ability isn't half bad either.
I've always normally thought of sleeper picks as something that is far undervalued and overlooked compared to other things. But, I guess most of the set does fit into that category outside of it's planeswalkers. It is hard for Thunderbreak reagent to be a sleeper since almost everyone already know's it's good. Same with some of the dragonlords, although I think those would probably fall into the category of undervalued. Prices seem to be going wonky right now partially because of the fact that very few people bought boxes to crack packs, which leaves it to stores open packs. At least in my area, very few people pre-ordered boxes or even preregistered for pre-releases.
My LGS opened a pack for display: Their seeded Ojutai pack had Blessed Reincarnation. We didn't open the rest of the pack though.--didn't get a chance to snap a picture though.
@Lopaki: Thanks for the picture of the Anafenza Promo. I like how it says Geist instead of Spirit for German cards xD.
Anything would be better than Megamorph (God, everytime I hear myself say this, I feel like I'm talking about Yu-Gi-Oh).
If it makes you feel any better, it's much closer to talking to Pokemon's Mega-Evolutions. Their Mega-Evolution animation is even similar to the morph-ball glowy thingy.
This card makes me want to brew something Bant or RUG
I think it was discussed in the other thread. I believe the ruling was that since it is a cost, the raptor would be in the graveyard before the morph actually happens.
Who cares what Maro says? They stretch the color pie all the time for their own agendas - for example - blue exile creature effects.
PRINT GREEN DRAGONS!
To be fair, blue's exile creature effects (I'm assuming you're talking about Curse of the Swine and Reality Shift) are essentially Polymorph effects, which is something blue has always had since Mirage. On the other hand, Green isn't particular a color of fliers, but it usually gets the most flying hate to counteract that (reach and cards that destroy things with flying).
I'm pretty sure the card is modern playable in a control shell, containing aggro decks with walls and counterspells while waiting for a lethal strike when you cast a 1G enchant seems like a viable strategy to me.
I am really curious to see what that deck list would look like. Like, I cannot even fathom what cards would go in there.
Terrible ones. Lots and lots of terrible cards.
On the brightside, if you're running lots of terrible 0/X cards; you don't have to worry about Elspeth board wiping them with her -3.
Also congrats to everyone who got in on wave 2. Glad to let you all know xP
