I think you are greatly overestimating the number of people that got these for less than $200.
That dosen't mean exclude them all together. Sure, people will ***** that they got a dragon instead of goyf.
But people ***** about everything.
Like any set, theres gonna be "bad" boxs.
But for some people, a "bad" box of mm can simply mean breaking even, and thats unheard of for any magic set.

MM Dark Confidant is $50 and MM Vendillion is $40, people "investing" in MM, whom I directed my first comment at, are not opening RAV and MOR cards in their MM box.
Lots of people were expecting to come out with extreme value out of this and aided the price gouging, I just want people to notice that was a bad idea and most people will be loosing a lot of money because SCG ripped card prices.
I also want those people to know it was SCG, not WoTC, who is responsible for the price cuts of their "valuable investment" so they won't start *****ing to WoTC/Hasbro and we won't end with a second Chronicles in our hands.

Almost every card halved in value. Kiki, Tarmo and the swords are the only ones that stayed at their price point, Confidant took a $10 loss and Clique is $40 now.
If you expected for a moment to have trading power or regain your investment by opening a box, even if you didn't open the money mythics, SCG says you won't.

All they said was "there was no consideration to the banned list when making MM." Which then led to the foaming masses speculating that we'd see BBE or SS, or both. Seemed to hint it, for sure, but just goes to show that WOTC can easily lead us on a wild goose chase without telling us any actual lies.

Anyway, they whole debate will be settled in a few weeks. This set is going to sell out in a couple days, then ebay listing will start popping up, and we'll see where it sells. My guess is in the $450 range inside of 3 months. And I have no skin in the game, I'm drafting all my boxes for more than I paid for them so I get to draft for free.

I think you're missing the point. Ok, you sell them locally, the point was that it takes time and effort to sell them. If it takes you 2-3 hours between opening your packs and then selling them to your local buddies, even if you make $100 on your box you've made the amount of money most adults would make just working those few hours at a job. Why are you trying to brag in both MM threads that you might make 100 bucks or so, and then maybe a few hundred a year down the road?
Not to mention thats giving you the benefit of the doubt that the current value of the cards that you're using to determine your future profit stay the same despite that almost everyone buying boxes will be selling the exact same cards as you in mass at the same time.

Selling that where? On ebay? How many listings, how many packages to ship, how many will sell at the value that are being published in these spreadsheets?
Besides, I clearly outlined three scenarios where you might see this EV in returns of one way or another. Most players seeing these numbers will not be in one of those.
Locally actually, so all this "oh but shipping and time and blah blah" crap means nothing, i sell my "unwanted" stuff once in awhile in boxs, and it sells next day, almost everytime.
I will be happy to post both boxs i open friday, with cost, what i opened and what i sold for profit toward buying the box.
And they have them at 60+
Sold out on SCG at $40
And majority of ebay listings have them between $40-$90

The only previous 10 dollar card that is now 5 is life from the loam, and the duel deck pretty much did it in, not MM
