Why are you guys complaining? If you think SCG is over priced and crap then what do you care if they don't want people scraping the pricing? I enjoy the convenience of ARK42 but it is not their prices, those prices are simply SCG regurgitated in an easier to read format.

TCG certainly is one way to look at pricing, SCG is another, So is eBay. I hear plenty of horror stories about the service level and quality at some of these other stores as well as eBay.

Plus there are plenty of cards which can be cheaper on SCG then on the Mid price on TCG, but of course no one ever talks about that. Rolleyes

    To know whats hot/not.
I check daily to see what scg jacks up, so i can get an edge in buying/selling to my advantage.

    scenario:
op attackes me with a taunting elf and a bunch of others.

I have a ton of gobbos, and krenko.
After he declares attacks, and all my dudes block taunting elf, can i tap krenko, create tokens and block the other attackers, or is it to late at that point since its past the declare blockers step?

    That was me :p
(would have made the poll myself but my phone won't let me)

anyways, i was curious, compared to what you paid (be it below msrp, at msrp or above msrp)
were people content, or happy with boxs they opened incomparision with what they paid?

In other words, was it justified, and would you do it again if you could?

Since i got mine at msrp, and pulled great stuff, its an auto yes.

I wonder how many people that paid over 250 will be like in comparison.

They'll be gone in a day, considering the original is about $70.
$30-$40 seems like a solid price in the long run.

    annnnnnd they're gone.
    Lol

  • posted a message on There's no reason Modern Masters packs should cost more
while i agree that less time used to create cards, a foil in every pack is sure to increase costs by a certain amount, besides that, the packs contain many valueble cards, it only makes sense.

Same reason ftv is 39.99 and not 3.99
    its still 15 cards right?

Contents will always play a role in sealed products and always will. No news here.

im glad most people who got boxs are satisfied.

In fact, someone should make a poll asking, are people who got boxs satisfied with the contents based on what they paid.

Just to eliminate people assuming msrp and people assuming 300 a box.
Id like to see how many got what they wanted for what they paid.

I know the 2 boxs i opened were both satisfying.

Most of those $10 rares will be $5 by next weekend, but don't worry, at least Vial will be $5 too. And that's the only good thing about this crazy ride, if you have expensive rares you don't want and people willing to buy them on the spot, sell now, you'll get money to buy the ones you do want in a couple weeks, and make a buck.
The only cards that will stay expensive are Tarmo, Clique, Confidant and the swords, everything else will take a dip next week, another dip after Vegas, and only start creeping back a couple months onward.

Unless you're a store and buyers are coming to you, selling all that cardboard is gonna be effort. And only the guy pulling a foil and non foil goyf doubled their investment in "a few days", that if he gets buyers for those cards at those prices.

Being sensible about it (understanding that a lot of buyers aren't buying untill cards go down and that going out to sell and trade cards is effort and an investment of time) this is not as much as a business success as people are thinking, that guy claiming "this is not overvalued at all" a couple pages back is wrong and just riding on the opening day frenzy.

Calm the **** down and wait till the weekend's over, then you'll see what prices people will be paying for these singles.

    What singles? dude, read.
A sealed box is immediatly profitable for me.
And i got a case at msrp.

I cracked 2 for myself (both of which were very good)
And 4 boxs will pay forthemselves, the opened boxs and then some.

So yea, "free" tarmogoyf and the bunch are terrible and i'm a moron.
    Okay.

I don't see a problem here. I just made money buying boxes. Sold them for a 100.00 profit per box in a few hours is not too bad.

Yea, you won't be able to argue with sombody who is upset that they can't do the same thing.
Envy is a nasty bit of buisness.

its kind of hilarious that you actually believe this. you're basing this off of prices on expensive sites, and not even considering that you are opening reprints.

you pretty much think that you can make money just buy buying boxes. thats ridiculous.

Once again, another mtgs user shows his ignorance without asking ANYTHING.

You know what my conservative price is?
    tcg mid, minus 20%.

And ive NEVER sold/traded anything that low before, hence VERY CONSERVATIVE.

I did make money of this box, don't be upset that you coulden't get any, and take it out on people that did.
I'll be happy to sell you one of the 6 sealed ones i have Wink

P.s i WILL in fact, be making money off buying boxs. You done looking like a fool now?

Stop using math, you only look silly. The way real men evaluate boxes is they do a quick check for any Tarmogoyfs or Foil Dark Confidants. If those 2 cards aren't there, the box is weak and it couldn't have possibly paid for MSRP and then you get to feel better about not being able to crack any packs yourself and you feel justified in saying anyone who bought boxes was stupid.

    Lol wut?

Money rare/mythics/money uncommons combined in my box have a value of 325. 300 to the conservative, and 255 to the super conservative, and the box had neither goyf or confidant.

    Be bitter somewhere else.
