I'm ok with them throwing some cards with no real value in this set, but Kird Ape was already reprinted in From the Vault set before and it does not need to be reprinted again.
While it makes no sense to reprint an already printed ftv card, im pretty sure there is no rule against it.
we've got our first judge promo reprint this year, so anything is possible.
And from what i recall kird ape was a huge card in the day.

It is likely that what Ken is working on is his sketch cards to go with The Gathering book due in September. I don't see Kird Ape coming back in anything anytime soon.

It already happened, most stores got 2 or 4 boxs. All 7 of the lgs have gotten it and it was gone in a second.

The way I see it, they seem to be decent pick ups around that much if not just for casual players. If there are no good duals and stuff in the future, these turn into premier mana fixers and they take off. Let me know thoughts?

Theres no real reason to not trade/sell them for at least that, so you'll break even. And like you said, theres a good chance these will be played more if no mana fixing is on the horizon.
Plus edh players will always want foils, i trade mine at 2 value, all the time.
I don't think Overwhelming Forces will go down. Look at Imperial Recruiter. One might argue that Recruiter sees plays in Legacy and the Overwhelming Forces doesn't but when was the last time you saw a deck with Imperial Recruiter see heavy play? However, both cards see play in EDH and being foil, it makes both of them a chase rare.
Show and Tell on the other hand, as long as that card is playable in the formats it's legal to, it's price won't go down. Even if it gets banned from Legacy, I don't think the price of that card will crash. Just look at Survival of the Fittest judge promo.
While most of the ORIGINALS wont budge, the new versions will be easily had at a faction of its originals cost.
I cant wait to grab a set of forces at $20 each.

Sad... They only reprint other M/X basics, never older ones from older sets... gotta wait longer for the specific ones i want.
Not gonna take away from the 2nd swamp, 2nd mountain and last forest though.
