Huntmaster of the Fells is very good. Its two bodies for one, and the gaining of life is relevant due to all the shocks, fetchs, thoughtseizes, and bobs. He basically blanks removal because youre always left with a Wolf, and if he isnt killed he can take over the game as you flip him at your pleasure. I am not sure what you play instead of him.

Saying that the Wolf token invalidates removal is kinda ambitious, same goes for saying that you can flip the Huntmaster at your leisure - people sometimes play instants, you know?

I'll believe in the ideal, not the idol and it'll be epic (pun completely intended).

I hope you have the endurance to go through 9 rounds, then.

    Yeah, had to go there.

Domri Rade is a solid Planeswalker. Domri Naya (played by Brian Kibler some while ago) is a strong contender and uses it very effectively. Other than that, shipitholla (Michael hetrick) played 1 copy in his sideboard of Living End. It's also a good card in Kiki Pod.

They will kill your landbase. You'll have to start right back at T0.

    1. They cast Balance
    2. Float 3 Mana
    3. Balance resolves
    4. Cast Violent Outburst
    5. Cascade into Living End
    6. Cast Living End
    7. ?????
    8. PROFIT!

Splashing Black also brings Orzhov Charm and Lingering Souls to the party.

Also, no love for the red splash?

Basically, this is a small Fact or Fiction for 3 mana.
    It's instant speed.
    It fuels the GY.

Problem is, it gives your opponent the choice. You will always get the 2 worse cards from the top of your deck.

On the other hand, it still draws 2 cards at instant speed.

I have little experience playing Control in Modern, but I haven't seen this card discussed yet and the options for CA spells are quite... limited.

Why would you play this over Thirst for Knowledge?

Because TfK restricts deckbuilding and, if you run it with a low artifact density, can lead to you simply cycling it.
MfB always nets you 1 extra card.

    What about Careful Consideration ?

Careful Consideration cycles at instant speed and draws an extra card at sorcery speed. Plus, it costs 4.
I doubt these 2 cards can be compared.

I have a raging hard-on for this card and I can't help it.
If there is a format where it's remotely good, it has to be Modern.

No, in game 1 in an unknown meta you have absolutely no idea what your opponent has in their deck. Unless you know the person, have gotten to talk to them before hand and have inside information. If you want to go on the assumption that you know exactly what everyone is playing, go ahead and maindeck it and go ahead and play bad magic. Yes it would be a wasted card slot and wasted turn if you named a card that wasn't in their deck, regardless if YOU think it's the one and only card you're scared of. If there are only a couple cards that you're scared of, why don't you just build a deck to beat those cards alone? It's a silly mentality. It's a sideboard card, period. You're wasting a single slot on a card that you may or may not see. Saying "well if I didn't see it, it didn't matter anyway" is a very poor way to look at it and drops your draw consistency. I'm probably just bad at magic though, so you can disagree but I'm not gonna argue with you over it.

First off, to get this out of the way: I have no idea why you get so incredibly defensive here. I am here to discuss cardchoices and you start *****ing around. This shows me that this post will be for nought, but for God's sake, one may try to discuss stuff, right?

I do not have to know someone's list to know what they are playing. If you can't deduct what your opponent's rough list looks like by their first plays, you might want to inform yourself about the format a bit more. Chances are, that an opponent who plays Hallowed Fountain + Sunpetal Grove and Farseek has Thragtusk in his deck, possibly Angel of Serenity, Entreat the Angels, Tamiyo and Jace AoT.
So if you are playing against said person and you know the single most problematic card for your deck will be a big Entreat, then for God's sake, go for it and name it.
I will repeat what I said before, this is based on the assumption that you have problems with cards, not whole decks (read: decent matchups across the field with a few single cards making MUs hard to win if they show up).
If that assumption makes you assume I'm stupid, feel free to add me to your ignore list, so we don't have to lead this discussion any further.

Saying an effect like Slaughter Games is strictly a SB card is incredibly close-minded. Were you around during Ravnica-CoK T2? No? Guess what, Gifts lists played Cranial Extraction. Mainboard.

Anyways, I'm out of this. Do as you please.
