Well this raises a bunch of random questions in my mind:
1.) Will Karn's appearance here bring New Phyrexia back into the story in some way?
2.) Will Ajani recruit Karn to aid in the fight against Nicol Bolas?
3.) Will Teferi still be a lowly legendary creature?
4.) Will suspend make a return, especially with Jhoira here?
5.) What role will Jhoira and Teferi have in this storyline?
6.) Will Jodah also be in the set, considering IIRC he and Jhoira are BFFs (at minimum)?
7.) What abilities will Karn's PW card have here (assuming he gets one, which he should)?
All this and more in the next episode of spoiler season.
I like the sound of the deck, though I notice that you mentioned using Vizier with persist creatures. I'm pretty sure that they still have the -1/-1 counters on them, as they come into play with the counters on, not have have them put on.
And typically when people play Knight they will have Horizon Canopy, Gaeas Cradle, Karakas, Bojuka Bog, and possibly the Dark Depths Combo.
Hey, thanks! I'll keep all these things in mind. I didn't realize they switched up shuffle rules.
Edit*
Went 3-1 at my local game store last night. A nice surprise. I think I had some good luck and also caught a lot of people off guard with deadguy ale. First match was 2-1 to a dark depths deck, second match was 2-1 to death and taxes, third I lost 0-2 to storm. I was clearly super unprepared for that match. Aside from boarding in some extra hand disruption I was pretty well screwed. Last match I won 2-0 to a goblins/ burn type deck.
Overall pretty decent time. Can't wait to finish off this deck.
Whoa, thanks for the info! I'm actually trying to build the deck you ran in that tournament right now. I have been out of Magic for ages but will be playing this deck on a small local tournament tomorrow, with a few substitutions as I hunt down harder to find cards and wait for a couple to arrive in the mail.
Do you have any tips for a first time pilot of this deck/ someone returning from a long break of magic?I read one of your tournament reports from a while ago and it had some fairly useful information.
Yes, the best route is to go 4c loam if you have the other cards - wait for MM3, chalices and groves might get reprinted, the cheaper variants are deadguy ale and maverick.
Thank you very much for the suggestions, I stared putting together the pieces for Deadguy, and I am slowly gonna more to Maverick then Loam hopefully someday.
And noticed 3 deadguy ale decks, and all of them play GWB, though they also all run copies of polluted delta instead of more copies of verdant catacombs. Can anyone explain their reasoning behind this?
I'm looking to get back into Legacy. Been away for a couple years but still have my collection, though I don't think I have any complete decks. I'm looking for something somewhat competitive, but at the same time not going to cost me over 500$ to complete.
I have 3 scrublands and a Savannah as well as quite a few black and white cards, including a set of Lillian's, 3 Dark confidants, a set of stone forge, and various other cards. Preferably the deck is something control-ish.
I, personally speaking, have been on here less and less due to the fact that Magic in general is on a bit of a downhill IMO. Prices and set quality have dettered me from spending and playing as much as I used to.
Im gonna just throw this out there as an honest question. What if Wizards doesnt reprint duals to get more into the market, but instead just prints more packs of unlimited/revised? Would this be against their policy?
Has anyone tested the Karlov soul sisters build yet? I would love to work on this with someone as I believe I have a good portion of the cards to build this.
Isnt the market kind of affected by how people value their cards? I mean, if wizards reprinted the reserve list, I definitely wouldn't sell my duals or anything, and I suspect most people would feel the same. The originals are still going to be highly collectable. Even if the cards dropped in price at major retailers, it would just give me an opportunity to scoop them up and hold them until the value enevitably rises again. This is Magic, prices on everything always rise!
