Just kinda throwing this out there, but do we ever reach a point of critical mass with enchantment creatures where Oath of the Ancient Wood becomes viable? EoT 2 4/4s or a 5/5 + 3/3 doesn't seem like the worst thing someone can do for 5 mana.

I really like the simic cards. Alot. That being said, it feels like their entire strategy revolves around filling the battlefield with durdley creatures while walking blindly into a Supreme Verdict as you scream 'Come at me, bro!'

I hope I'm wrong. But with a sizable chunk of the set spoiled at this point it feels heavy on over-extension and light on resiliency.

All the cards in this group are pretty interesting. Especially the Biomancer. As an aside, am I crazy for thinking the M13 Ajani works pretty well with some of the simic cards in Gatecrash? His +1 ability seems handy with Fathom Mage and the new Biomancer. Probably too slow, but there could almost be something abusable there with the capability to put +1 counters on a few of the simic cards for free.

It might be Christmasland, but a Goblin Electromancer reduces the cost to 3. If you hit a land, it comes into play untapped effectively reducing the casting cost to 2. Suddenly you have a ramp effect that is either quite repeatable or totally capable of casting your game winning spells for you.

I do have to agree with some of the sentiment in this thread. The doublestrike mode seems out of place and underwhelming when coupled with the other two options.

It should have been replaced with 'destroy target artifact or enchantment' instead.

Then we'd have a playable card instead of this limited only junk.

    /sarcasm

Thanks, Dontrike. I should prolly invest more time working on my reading comprehension skill and less time drooling over the 1 drop hybrid card that taps to remove cards from either players graveyard. lifegain+damage to opponent+mana acceleration= too stronk.

I ask for your forgiveness in advance because I'm sure that stupid question is stupid, but...
The mothership lists the spoiler at 263/264, however there is no Azorius keyrune nor is there a Golgari Charm. Does that mean one of those two cards was left out? Or is there something going on with the tally that I'm just not understanding?

I'm sure I'm already stating the obvious here, but just to be sure I think I should point out that the real strengths of this card are when it doesn't even come into the battlefield. People talking about 'vanilla' creatures aren't considering that its inclusion can radically change the power level of existing cards. Hence the term 'enabler.' Just for instance take Faithless Looting...With two Skullslithers its effect becomes 'Draw 2 cards put 2 +1/+1 counters on target creature' I guess I'm just trying to say that there is more, generally quite a bit more, to a creature than its power and toughness on the battlefield.
