I could, easily, be mistaken, but I'm like 51% sure that Cauldron is a replacement effect, thus never letting Atheros return anything.
As for the card...So is the process of being brought back via Cauldron so horrifying that your guys would rather flee to the endless purgatory of your deck than go to the graveyard to be brought back again? What's going on there?
I think the card is fine? Will likely see play in Standard. That being said, I would temper expectations of a card that does absolutely nothing unless its conditions are met. Nada. Zero. Zilch. I think that aspect is being underrepresented. Even when you do jump through hoops, what's the payoff? Doomblade? Counterspell? Where's the card advantage? I'm not trying to be overly critical, but this feels like a wee bit of over excitement.
Worst case scenario is you run four and they're all in your opening hand. It tends to struggle with early game application unless you're running a mill deck or your opponent's strategy fills up the yard. But the cheap cost is relevant in the late game, when the condition is more likely to have been met than not. I actually think it performs best in older formats than standard since its condition is usually achieved earlier.
Basically, it is cheap and flexible removal, with a condition that balances it. Not unlike Assassin's Trophy. It can fill out slots in a deck where either role is needed, freeing up some deck building options while being mostly constrained to a control archetype. Asking for card advantage on such a versatile two drop removal seems a bit excessive...
I agree that it is better suited for older formats. I strongly disagree that it is 'not unlike Assassin's Trophy,' however. Assassin‘s Trophy always as n effect. Period. That's not true of this card. As for the card advantage, I apologize for being unclear. I was not advocating that this card have an additional effect, but rather that you would use one that does. If my removal requires 4 turns to come online, why not just play Cryptic Command, for example.
Ultimately, we're splitting hairs. The card will see some niche play. As it should. It isn't bad. I just think we should pump the brakes a bit.

copy artifact is 700$ This new card is essentially yet another one of these loop holing the reserve list card
Since this one will not be reserved and can be reprinted this could end up being 50$ zone in a few years I say it’s worth picking up
I mean, you are correct, but I don't think it went unmentioned because it was unnoticed. I just don't think anyone cared. Copy Artifact has a bloated price because of its scarcity and presence on the reserved list. Its effect is, largely, inconsequential. I mean, we already have Phyrexian Metamorph, as just one example, of mimicking this card's effect for its effective CMC. Albeit Metamorph doesn't copy enchantments, I think its fair to marginalize that aspect of the card, from a financial perspective, given the relative affordability of the actual card Copy Enchantment being virtually equal to Metamorph. With other eternal options that offer a functionally equivalent substitute, I don't think its any surprise that Mirrormade's similarity to Copy Artifact wasn't a focal point of discussion.
For what its worth, it could be worth speccing on for the enchantment side. Always a good idea to keep the dollars and cents of the game in mind.
That Giant may be the best card I've seen outside of Murderous Rider. Holy smokes. The fact that Adventure kinda lets you work around Experimental Frenzy is feeling more and more relevant.
Nothing on the gargoyle. Irritatingly large blocker that turns into a wincon. Seems fine, but not terribly exciting.
This is a massive bomb in limited, sink your mana in during your opponent's end step, then mill them out during your turn before they can cast anything.
Mill != discard. Edit: Oh, you mean so that you mill a maximum of cards... OK. I would not call that a bomb. Giving your opponent cards off you using mana is not a good deal.
Whoops! Was thinking just instant or sorcery. Now I wonder how many times I skipped taking Search for Azcanta because I'm a moron. My FNM win% thanks you.
Hydras are supposed to grow heads , this is just ABUSING the tribal name and thats outright bad.
Card itself is fine.
Should simply NOT be a hydra, turtle ok, but hydra is so tacked on, like brute forcing a tribe into a card just because.
the only shimmer of flavor is that 5+ mana creatures can at least be hydras with X in them, but thats a super remote connection if at all, and again a forced synergy just to make it happen ; i very much disapprove of that kind of design.
Oh look! Its the MtG version of that 'friend' we all have that insists we hit 'just one more bar' because he's 'got a couple shots left in him' even tho he's falling down drunk. Love that guy.

I thought so. Thank you for the reply, good sir.

And she can actually find it with her -2. #flavorwin
EDIT: Edited to spare Narset from my stupidity.
Show me on the doll where the card touched you.
