if we're going the PW route then Ajani fits better. there was a discussion about this some pages back.

thanks to whomever pressed 2x wear / tear in the board, btw. that card is legit.

Its interesting to note that LSV´s list seems a lot more tempo than what we have discussed here.
No ajani, no batterskull or thundermaw means he curves at 4 with resto angel, also no sphinxs means hes not aiming for a long game at all.
Even if he runs 3 command, which i find kind of odd with his creature line up, its pretty obvious hes going to try to out-tempo every other deck out there backed with clique ripping hands appart, remand delaying thins, and resto for added value.

yep, looks that way. not sure why he's playing a 3/2 split of leak to remand if that's the case, though.

you know, LSV's list is not that different from what we're discussing here. i think the base is 95% the same between everyone, and we're only talking a 4 or 5 card difference.

    for instance, mine:

    -2 Angel
    -1 Leak
    -1 Clique
    -1 Command

    +2 Ajani
    +1 Path
    +1 Snare
    +1 Scepter

i'm pretty excited to watch the GP this weekend. i think we're going to get a good idea of where this deck is at.

i still don't like resto. i guess it makes on the 3-clique plan.

    I prefer EE, less narrow.

unfortunately don't have EE. will look to trading for one, but that probably won't happen before this weekend. here's my final list of what i'm going to run sideboard:

    2 Wrath of God
    2 Stony Silence
    2 Rest in Peace
    2 Grafdigger's Cage
    2 Spreading Seas
    2 Wear // Tear
    1 Echoing Truth
    1 Shadow of Doubt
    1 Batterskull

    i couldn't find any counterflux =/

imo, the only time purge was relevant was against the demigod / obliterator deck that people played for a hot minute in the spring.

and to think i just traded my 2 foil purges. i had them in my sideboard once upon a time but was convinced to take them out.

    regarding the mirror:

my strategy has always been to swap out 4 GOST and move to control. i don't think think is necessary anymore (legendary rule). further, it may just be too cute (as mentioned).

i think the advantage of playing the mirror is knowing what they are running: a mass of removal of some counters. their game plan is landing geist and pushing to colonnade.

so, in my opinion, we take advantage of our knowledge by making their removal inefficient and winning the race. how do we do that? disrupt their hand and be faster tempo.

    maybe Git Probe and Thalia?

better. i don't like spreading seas, and most of it all i don't like it taking the spot the second wear // tear deserves. You'll really want it so badly if a blood moon resolves. I don't even like the mono spellskite, you should probably go 2x or none... Shadow of doubt... well, nice, but i never layed it since there are better options i think. If you wanna stop Pod you can go Grafdigger's cage and if you wanna stop scapeshift, counter spells like dispel are just better in more MUs (Twin, mirror, etc)

the only reason i'm hard on shadow of doubt is the two-cost for isochron and the replacement effect. my list wants to be more tempo, i think, so getting draw is useful. i should be at 4 remand if that's the case. but i hear you.

    2 Wrath of God
    2 Counterflux
    2 Stony Silence
    2 Rest in Peace
    2 Grafdigger's Cage
    2 Wear // Tear
    2 Spellskite
    1 Supreme Verdict

i used to have 1 verdict in there with the 2 wraths--can't remember why i took it out. maybe i'll throw one back in. need to track down a spellskite, and i like having 2 shadow to go with the 1 of isochron.

    2 Wrath of God
    2 Counterflux
    2 Stony Silence
    2 Rest in Peace
    2 Shadow of Doubt
    1 Spreading Seas
    1 Spellskite
    1 Wear // Tear
    1 Batterskull
    1 Supreme Verdict

I'm not a fan of Spreading Seas tbh. It's still up to you if you want it in your 75. It could be good vs RG Tron but it's not that relevant for the Mono U Tron matchup.

ignoring the 2 spot for seas, how does this look:

    2 Wrath of God
    2 Stony Silence
    2 Counterflux
    2 Rest in Peace
    2 Cryptic Command
    1 Shadow of Doubt
    1 Sphinx's Revelation
    1 Seachrome Coast

the 2 cryptic make a playset, and the seachrome is a 26th land to support the move to all control.

you guys aren't a fan of the seas, eh? we do have 2 edge against tron, but sowing salt is leaving and we have so much removal that is basically useless against tron.

    -2 Sowing Salt
    -2 Grafdigger's Cage
    +2 Counterflux
    +2 Rest in Peace

the seas present an option for more land denial that cantrips, allowing us to shift out lightning bolts. thoughts?
