VidarThor posted a message on Thinning the Infected HerdMost of what you want in infect is in green, black and artifact.Posted in: Commander (EDH)
Blue has some proliferate cards, but there are plenty to go around in the remainding 4 colours + artifacts. What I however fail to see is why you glorify proliferate so much. You have to jump through hoops to proliferate. Let's say you proliferate 3 whole times! Kept Atraxa aroun for 3 turns, attacked with thruming bird 3 times or just been loky enough to draw Inexorable Tide in your 100. Is that not just as strong as casting a Giant Growth on your creature? There are so many pump spells that just are better in the infect creatures. There might be reasons for playing blue, but proliferate is not one of them.
You can play blue for Blighted agent I suppose but how often do you draw him? No, if you want to be 4 colour infect Saskia the Unyielding is your card. You can even have shu yun, the silent tempest in the 99. I would not recomend him as an infect general though as so much of the good infect is in green and black.
If you still want proliferate as a subtheme you get Volt Charge.
are all infect creatures, but I only like the first 1.
Play cards like:
- Rancor
- Stonewood Invocation
- Ranger's Guile
- Blossoming Defense
- Wild Defiance
- Might of Alara
- Gaea's Might
- Vines of Vastwood
- Berserk
- Might of Old Krosa
- Invigorate
- Become Immense
- Umezawa's Jitte
- Mutagenic Growth
- Triumph of the Hordes
- Simic Charm
- Tainted Strike
- Bonesplitter
- Conqueror's Flail
The flail is mostly because having your opponent respond to your pump spells is a real hassle. But with it on the board your opponent has a lot of problems.
There are so many good red pumps as well. Look up a Shu Yun deck and compy them. Your white splash should probably be little to keep up consistency. But remember Duelist's Heritage. - Rancor

BaconofLight posted a message on Good Stax/Prison ArtifactsPosted in: Commander (EDH)Quote from JivanmuktaMy friends all play magic...so I tend to try not pissing off the people I've known for a long time off too much.
The issue is already apparent. Your friends won't adapt to new strategies.
How do you like I playing against Faeries and Blue-combo decks all in legacy games? Not much, but blue is the meta, so I got used to it and adapted well.
We should just agree to disagree because on these threads, nothing gets done, nothing gets disputed or accomplished.
New ideas are nice to the boring metas.
How many games do you want to end by blue player #4 or mono-green Crawl Wurm player or combo/graveyard player #2?
I respect everyone's deck, but I just hate how people go into threads they dislike just to add negative comments that don't help keep it going. If you want to have a discussion, please use intelligence and logic instead of your own ignorance to justify your answers.
People can back me up on this, I always try to say something reasonable and I ask the tough questions. Why would you sugar answers in the first place? Remember, people aren't nice, so don't pretend that you are.
I love when anyone asks me questions and usually, I give them my answer in great detail.
For example; Kraus911 ask me, "Why I have so many white sources in Zur when I only have 9 actual white spells?" I'm not going to type it out, but you see where I'm going with this. Regardless of what you're asked or presented, reply back with respect instead of resentment. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

After being stupid about college and my dad giving me an ultimatum, I left home to go from Illinois to Kentucky to live with my mother. After a few months, I finally got out of my house (stupid ASD! >.<) and decided to stop by an interesting store by the name of Amazing Wonders. I then learned that they held MtG tourneys and I decided to get my rusty old deck out to attend one. After playing against a guy named Mark (who later became a great friend and excellent mentor) for fun, I found out my silly mono-green ramp deck was no longer standard, to which I replied "What is standard?"
After understanding the formats, Scars of Mirrodin had just released, and I took interest in these little things called Myr. They were cool and did cool things, but were not nearly fast against what would later become my true love: Infect. Hopefully, I haven't lost too many haters by now...eh, whatever. From B/G to Mono-Green, my infect deck actually did pretty well and I loved being able to tell people that they needed a d10 instead of a d20 and see their faces go from happy to completely straight as they muttered "You're playing infect...", all the while trying to stifle my laughter. Then at a tournament, I faced a guy playing U/G Infect (which is what my infect deck would later become, albeit much different and faster than this guy's). I crushed him badly (T3 wins tend to have a crushing sound to them, I think most victors would claim this true), but that wasn't the point, as he introduced to me what would become my mistress: Proliferation. While I never used it myself for the longest time, but I loved teaming up with a friend in 2HG that did as he could help me whittle away opponents while defending me as I plowed on through.
My passion for standard has all but died now, but I find EDH a ton of fun, and I longed for a day when a legendary creature that was a proliferate engine on a stick would come to my aid and let me play an EDH deck I've wanted since I discovered the format...lo' and behold, enter Vorel of the Hull Clade! While he may not literally be proliferate on a legendary stick, he's close enough and I squeed when I saw him in the spoiler on this site. I wanted to jump up and down for joy!

This is what I have so far, and if you cannot tell it focused around counter manipulation, token production, and buffing infect/already big creatures...but I feel lack it's lacking in some areas...mainly draw engines. I noticed that Graft is probably an amazing quirk for this deck, but I'm not sure if I've utilized it enough. Also, since I'm using Vorel as my commander I do not have access to black, voiding me of any black infect creatures of proliferation spells. Save for Phyrexian Crusader and Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon, I can safely say that I won't miss these things as I have all the better G/U infect creatures, but the spot removal and board wipes will definitely be missed. I also really have the urge to throw in Mycosynth Lattice and Darksteel Forge, but I also feel that having them in just for their combo along with making all my creatures able to benefit from being artifact creatures isn't good enough to add them in a deck that isn't as devoted to artifacts as Arcum Dagsson or Sharuum the Hegemon.
All input, thoughts, and advice would be appreciated. I would really appreciate advice about what to possibly remove to focus more on the main ideas of the deck and take out things that either don't fit or don't fit well enough.
