I split for first at my local Game Day, which was just 4 rounds of swiss. (Only 16 people, pretty small.)
Faced Mono-Green, then Jund, then Bant Enchantments, then Junk Reanimator. We split 15 packs each (I pulled a Foil Voice of Resurgence in it along with Sire of Insanity, Deadbridge Chant, Blood Baron of Vizkopa, and Armada Wurm). We played for the Champion Mat, and Junk Reanimator won, I saw no sideboard cards.
My MVP was Collective Blessing, which let me swing 16 in the air at Bant Enchant guy when I was near death, and it won the game for both Mono Green and Jund.
My guess is that Simic was the only guild that got completely and utterly destroyed in the last set and was for a while off the map.
Zegana and her newly arrived merfolk friends, a stray bunch of old Simic scientists and random assorted people with similar interests basically picked up the abandoned name and guild symbol and refounded the guild from scratch.
Well the real reason in real life is that the artist simply missed the guild.
In my opinion, Vorel is a decent card. He can double a predator ooze, he can easly make Gideon larger, he can make Gyre Sage a big mana source, and even make you win turn 3 of Azor Elocuters being out. He even is hard to hit by burn spells.
I really don't think the amount of artifact destruction is in any way unusual. Innistrad block also had several cards that interacted negatively with artifacts:
I (and probably others) have noticed an amount of artifact destruction cards in Return to Ravnica, Gatecrash, and the one in Dragon's Maze so far. I count eight just for destroying or exiling artifacts. Then there is also Tyrant Hellkite to consider.
Why is there this many cards concerning artifacts when there is not an unnatural amount in the block or the previous one?
What I believe is that there will be an subtheme of artifacts like there is one of enchantments in this current block. Does anyone else agree?
Doesn't each artist draw characters differently?
Compare the Jaces with eachother, the only similar thing is the cloak.
And the crown matches with the one in Aurelia's Fury, doesn't it (maybe the size is slightly different)?
Usually for the guide the artists use they just have a concept on what someone looks like, which for her is probably the armor, the body features, and maybe crown. Swords can be whatever the artist wants.
I just figured it was the size of the leader.
Niv and Isperia are both big flying things, both are 6cc
Jarad and Trostani are both Human-sized (well each part of Trostani is) and are 4cc
Then Rakdos threw that off, but maybe it is because he breaks all the rules.
I would say Borborygmos will be 6cc, Ghost council 6cc, the merfolk lady being 4cc, and Dimir guy being 4cc. Aurelia can be between 4 to 6cc depending on how strong she is.
It may be hard, but I will make an Esper Token deck. I just hope there are more mono white populate spells.
I am interested in a Azorius Fliers deck. I think Detain will be fun.

The best part about Collective Blessing is that they do not expect it, and the only deck that was able to deal with it is Junk Reanimator and Control.

True, but it seems like more cards are focused on solely artifact destruction instead of artifact or x.
I was also considering that artifact hate is mostly for flavor purposes.
