Urien, King of Everwinter - Not even untap with cards that make them untap? ie. Untap target permanent. ? Other creatures are tapped and don't untap during that players untap step. Or you want absolute rule.

Thanks for the feedback on NameTBD
My friend Ezra's Commander, he is also contemplating fair cmc and is willing to drop to a 1/4. I personally like the 1/5 for a treefolk. Maybe add Shaman?

Apr 17, 2018I'm new so take my critique with a grain of salt.Posted in: Custom Card Creation
Fledgling- I like that it doesn't naturally have flying, because it's a young bird that has yet to try.
Void_nothing - Thank you for that input. I think you are right with NameTBD. With a play group that is designing our own commanders, I'm trying to keep the white/blue feel. I'd like the tokens to be white/blue as well (why I picked solider elementals) Ice elementals are exactly the art/lore I am going for. I suppose the artwork could speak to their white identity?
change to = Human Solider Wizard
Let's say I wanted a mythic rare or rare?
Apr 17, 2018Looking for CMC advice, what should be appropriate for this:Posted in: Custom Card Creation
Name TBD (?)(W)(U)
Legendary Creature - Wizard Solider (4/4)
When Name TBD enters the battlefield or attacks create a white and blue 1/1 Solider Elemental creature token with when this creature deals damage to a creature that creature doesn't untap during its next untap step.

Now that could be bait; I've gotten ripped like that as well.
Aug 7, 2016Posted in: Market Street CaféQuote from yntl2003 »If you're trying to simulsend and he has more refs than you it should be his choice.
You just have to pay your dues in a system like this. If you want it faster you can ask if he would send as soon as you give him a tracking #.
If this is a sale post then I'd expect the cash first before sending regardless of refs.
Other than that, if you don't feel comfortable don't trade.
Data for your information if the above question was unclear. I have more refs. He believes they are not as recent as his and is manipulating who sends first. Others on here have gotten burned.

I think it is. Until Sept 30th, when it and Origins bump out. http://whatsinstandard.com/ I think this year is weird because of the change in only 2 sets in between verse 3

I see. Yes you have about 28-30% removal (with Ob Nixilis Reignited as card draw or removal). Which is very controlly. Though BW angel control is a thing; however, I'm going to go my own direction, with a bit less control.
The obvious point a finger at it, is the 3 Infinite Obliteration and 3 Duress. Does seem to be very iffy wether or not I can pull that off. I guess just seems more fun than realistic. I am going to sideboard or switch Anguish Unmaking and Utter Ends ready to go. A bit more expensive, but I like the flexibility. Maybe they just need to be Ruinous Path, I'm used to the need an answer to everything of EDH.
I did cut the Hixus, Prison Warden. Seems like a long-shot way of dealing with things if I am Lancering for it.
But....I totally didn't read the any legendary card part. Thanks.

Wise advice. For deck consistency and higher likelihood of drawing your best cards...hmm.

~from another usertrade feedback on sites like this is only valid/relevant for 1 year. They will count trades you did 10 years ago in your feedback score. A lot can happen in 10 years, and honestly nobody cares about your trade record from 2 or more years ago... Sidenote: in that regard, I have a higher feedback than you do...lol
Aug 3, 2016Any thoughts or suggestions?Posted in: Standard Archives
Playing many years of EDH, I have started to branch into Standard for the first time. These questions are more of theory questions verses specific card choices (though those are great to hear as well).
Though I will paste a Deck List, it is still in the works and will change according to discussions here and play testing.
I think card draw is my biggest weakness. Thought about splashing green to add Tireless Tracker, or Blue for whatever, but I think I want to stay in just BW to worry less about color fixing.
For lands: this will be adjusted at the end. My thought is 40%, so Xx plains, Xx swamps, 1x Rogue's Passage, 1x Shambling Vent

In EDH I set aside 15-20% mess with the other player's board state (removal, etc) That would translate to 9-12 for a 60 card deck. Is this common in standard? Besides maybe getting out the Angel Meld (Bruna, the Fading Light & Gisela, the Broken Blade) I don't really have a way to control until I pull that off. What I'm looking at is building up a board state, targeting Odric, Lunarch Marshal with the Thalia's Lancers to spread out the static abilities. Or using the Lancers in a pinch to find something to help out.
I feel like Languish, Ever After, and even Sword of the Animist go together well. I can be a bit more aggressive than I normally play. In some cases, swinging with the sword attached to get the extra land, even if the creature will die.
With Hixus, Prison Warden, I'm up to 10 "removal" cards. You could count Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim & Sorin, Grim Nemesis but my goal is to use them more offensively and card draw. Thus giving me the option to play multiple ways.
Cards I considered, maybe sideboard in the madness cards for the Duress in certain games:
- Alms of the Vein
- Anguished Unmaking
- Utter End
- Biting Rain
- Murderous Compulsion
- Always Watching
- Alhammarret's Archive
Legends that didn't make it:
- General Tazri (no Allies)
- Kozilek, the Great Distortion (would have to add some colorless producing lands, card draw would be awesome)
- Kytheon, Hero of Akros (Nah)
- Liliana, Heretical Healer (middle ability is non-legendary)
- Linvala, the Preserver (...)
- Sidisi, Undead Vizier (would be tutoring to tutor)
- Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger (Probably Ever After vs. Cast, but still good)
- Archangel Avacyn (could use the extra vigilance flyer...but...)
- Emrakul, the Promised End (Probably Ever After vs. Cast, but still good)
Though...Emrakul would give them all trample and Kozilek menace.
- Alms of the Vein
May 19, 2016Strike those two posts (3,4) It does make sense.Posted in: Magic Rulings Archives
May 19, 2016I feel like if I tried to pull these both off against someone, they'd say I can't have both things I want. not exiling entomb, but keeping Syphon life in my graveyard to continue that fun.Posted in: Magic Rulings Archives
May 19, 2016Hmm..Still confused because I was just told:Posted in: Magic Rulings Archives
another question thread
Entomb searches for a card (ulamog) to put into graveyard to save my stuff from a bojuka bog, but then entomb hits the graveyard and is shuffled in and not exiled by Bojuka Bog.
Where as gitrog/dakmor salvage stuff are triggered. Is that the difference?
I don't want to just know the answer, I want to understand.
