For discussion, but is Skyshroud Elf strictly better than Druid of the Anima? Barring meddling mage stuff of course. I couldn't think of any obvious situations where it wasn't, but I feel as though I am overlooking something.
I would say they are different, since you can turn colorless or other colored mana into R or W with Skyshroud Elf and can only tap for 1 of a choice between RWG with Druid of the Anima ( ie Palinchron + High Tide for infinite U mana convert it to R and fireball everything for 40 zillion dmg ). The abilities are too different to compare like that imo.
edit: Ahh i get it now, he has 2 islands to tap as well. You are right, Cancel is better when you are playing UWG Counter/Omnath/Crackdown.dec and have exactly 3G in the pool. I hear that happens often
edit2: It still wont work though, Omnath would be a 3/3 Green creature thus not untapping
Your cards are gone, sucks dude. The best you can do is turn this into a $70 lesson and don't double up your cards in your trade binder. Also if he took that many cards without you noticing in one trade you should try to keep a better eye on your stuff. I'm not trying to sound like an ass, I feel for you. Hopefully he gets struck by lightning and you are there to roast marshmallows over his steaming corpse
Bad players hide behind expensive cards to face roll kids at fnm. It is hard for them to grasp the idea that a good player with a mediocre deck is usually better than a hack with an expensive stack of cards.
I would build a deck exclusively around ramping Olivia into play early game and play it against him every time. I am kind of an ass so that should be taken into account. To keep OT.. He sounds like a douche bag
I think the major difference between the pros and the regulars is tight play. You will see the regular player over extend and make little play errors now and again while the pro will play a little more conservatively, think around corners if you will, and stay on point. Playing like that will mitigate a lot of the luck factor in the game and keep you more consistent.
