The only reason to play bug is obviously going to come from the green. Deathrite/scooze. Sylvan caryatid should be here. Reaper and prophet are both awesome. Maybe kalonian hydra. Nyleas bow? Etc
yea i like to drop 2 of those charms for 2 devour flesh, but other than that I am running the exact same list. just 3 sin collectors and choosing between lifebane and deso demon for which in mb and the other in sb. also I'm not so sure that high priest is so much better than tithe drinker. tithe drinker has 2 power and extort which can be relevant vs. control and unless it's vs. red control than high priest trigger probly won't do anything, so tithe wins in that matchup. destroying planeswalkers in other matchups is nice though. but tithe drinker's lifelink can help mitigate all of our self damage. I think both can be good but down to the meta imo.
There is a decent amount of stuff that can remove him but of course you run him with Sin Collector and Thoughtseize. Also look out for Brave the Elements as that can save him from pretty much anything cept board wipes. Also Spear of Heliod will get him out of mortar's range.
At a glance this card seems like a janky uncommon right? Or does it?
A 2 cost 1/2 Flyer is slightly below average in terms of power, but tack on 2 decent abilities and now you have a playable card. But is it a build around card? It's nice that you can both block and use it's tap ability to weaken attackers. Can there be some kind of control deck that can make use of both of her abilities? Perhaps combine it with the "token death" idea, using Curse of the Swine, Swan Song, Rapid Hybridization, Ratchet Bomb, and Illness in the Ranks. What does everyone think of this card?
I think it should definitely focus on controlling early game with counterspells, which work well with prophet in the late game too. Since you mention Zegana vs. Rev, there could be a only U/G version, both versions could be good. I feel like this is a solid archetype to run Master Biomancer along with Master of Waves. Biomancer let's the elementals live if the Wave guy dies. And flashing in eot 4 4/3's sounds pretty game ending. Would be nearly an entire different list though.
I was thinking something similar, but throw in the synergy between auras + agent of the fates/fiendslayer/cartel and orzhov charm. Here's my first draft.
Just at a quick glance you need more lands. You have 14 4+ cmc and also the x2 rakdos's returns. Try 24 or 25 lands! And on that note the cacklers and spike jesters are slightly confusing to me. Your deck looks like a midrange deck, with the 1 drop being thoughtseize (duress should prolly go to the sb). Your two drops should be mostly removal (doom blade, devour flesh, renounce the guilds). Read the Bones is going to be a very nice draw spell most control decks will want. Those two small creatures won't do much for you as your late game bombs will finish the game regardless. I assume you chose the cacklers/jesters as more creatures to combo with the cerberus. If that's the case and you want to keep them I would drop 2 warleader's helix and all 3 duress for some more 3 or 4 drop creatures. Either way I would try to focus your game plan on being more of an aggro deck or being a midrange deck.
hey cat. While it's possible to make a creature focused version (you might also like Tithe Drinker), running more creatures gives an even better reason to use the cauldron. There really isn't any reason to not use it if you're playing both creatures and Accord.
I see many people aren't up for Ratchet Bomb mb, but it's a decent catch all that won't hurt you in most matchups. It's a good game 1 planeswalker answer. Even against aggro decks I've had it do good things. Kill some cacklers/stromkirks easily, tokens, big oozes, and against aristocrats it's hilarious. Takes out a beefy champ like nothing and can kill a Cartel Aristocrat because it has no color.
Also ramping to 5 has it's benefits, BBoV or Obzedat are there. Dropping a Trading Post and activating it that turn, dropping an accord and activating Bubbling cauldron, dropping post/aa and having 1 mana for tragic slip. It has its merits.
Here's my most recent list, top 2 at fnm 3 or 4 times, it does decent and it is loads of fun, but I don't think it'll ever be a big championship tournament deck.
Hammer of Purphoros won't be any use in this deck, the red artifact enchantment. Magma Jet is cool though. Ral Zarek is neat and worth testing, you also get Warleader's Helix from red. But I think black offers more options.
ya it will stay dollar bin. blue still has verdict and d-sphere. black would rather run merciless eviction. and you mention indestructible, aetherling, and mutavault but planar cleansing doesn't get around any of that :/
