I'm not sure I understand. Molten Rain is almost a strict upgrade to Stone Rain apart from having double Red in the casting cost. But given this deck is mono red, with 20 mountains, that doesn't seem like a significant issue.
I just got screwed several times. The extra 2 points of damage was never an issue for me. It was the ability to cast it turn 3. I think molten rain is way better vs. liliana decks but we crush those anyways.
Ok I'm back from GP Vancouver... List is above somewhere. Made my first day 2 and finished 10-5 at 165th place in the GP despite it only being the second event i played the deck in!!!
I 6-3'd day one losing to Bant eldrazi, punted vs. elf ball, and lost to a breach titan. Beat rg tron, infect, abzan, jund, grixis delver, and merfolk.
Day 2 Beat Jund, burn, Grixis control, lost to eldrazi tron and Breach Titan(won game 1, mull to 4 game 2, mull to 4 game 3 ) and beat kiki chord combo.
I decided my list needs 23 lands so i cut batterskull for another snow-mountain. I'll do a match rundown when i get the time. I also feel like stone rain might be better than molten due to the importance of casting it ASAP vs. tron and breach. Sometimes you have to keep a hand of Snow-mountain, scrying sheets and mind stone just because you have the land destruction in hand. With stone rain you dont just lose if you fail to draw another red source.
Just my 2 cents.
What do people think of processor assault over the singleton roast some people seem to be running? Seems ok with relics and anger of the gods. Hits Kor firewalker and Etched Champion. Also hoses some random suspended stuff.
I've been testing a version of this deck for GP Van, and cannot win vs twin deck. I'm thinking illness in the ranks, or a splash for rakdos charm.. any thoughts?
ps. on my phone so no decklist for now.,
Yeah, the radiant fountains are untested, but could prove useful against the super aggro decks. Kinda neat with a sideboard pearl lake ancient. This is the list I'm going to be testing going forward. ensoul artifact isn't worth it in my opinion. To each his own though.
Good work on the list. Few points though.
I think the overall utility of quickling is much better than getting a 3/2 vapourkin once in a while. Also, I'm considering boarding out most creatures for a much more controlling shell against creature decks. The auras that tap as well as cheap counters and nullifies... Thoughts?

Sarkhan gets around grixis' and jund's removal though. Also does a *****ty flame slash impression. I like the split.
