Unfortunately Kiora heading to Ulamog with her bident still counts as smart move, compared to what planeswalkers regularly do. She even tested the thing! Examples when 'walkers are planning ahead are rare, and I can't remember who and when had a thought out backup plan.
Storyline or flavor? Because I like Lorwyn/Shadowmoor story but can't stand the setting. On another hand there are mage-rings, which are cool concept but Vryn storyline is not that much described.
Finally formulated my problem with current Nissa: "forest itself gives me power" / "I feel connection to all living things" person was done to death. And her special trait is that she sees the cute side of what was the plane with most violent temper - maybe that's fair in this setting, but uncomfortably close to real world people who see nature through rose tinted glasses.
Funny that the traits that gave me respect to portrayal of Nissa in times of before retcon - pragmatic, thinking that her people are superior but still effectively working with other species, protector of her people even through dark means - are now on Drana. Who is vampire whom Nissa always hated.
Nissa is so alien to me it's getting funny. Her methods of search are too similar to what my husband does when he doesn't want to search but wants me to do that instead: to stand in the center of room calling for the missing item. Hell, girl, judging by how it's treated as big reveal the lost thing will be in the first place you really thought about! Use your brain to solve problems, do not wander around waiting for solution to drop on you!
Also about center of all leylines being on Bala Ged: the same Bala Ged which is overrun by Eldrazi except by tiny area occupied by Drana? Please don't tell me there's a center of planar mana, which is supposed to be the biggest prize to mana devourers, which somehow wasn't nommed.
Speaking of Drana: there survivors' population dropped from 15000 to 5000 before the start of story, then to 2500 to the end, as I recall. 12500 dead, and that's only from whom Drana supervised to count. That magnitude made me kinda callous to plight of one goblin... and to whining of one elf, for that matter. Entire world is falling apart and you're torn if you should carry seeds around or plant them on another world? Plant them, and then replant them on Zendikar when you win or be happy to save anything when you lose; anyway, do that and move to actual problems.
I wouldn't blame Jace for releasing Eldrazi. It might be cheap excuses from a fan, but he had no way to know what will happen, and even if he would somehow step back and not pursue Chandra I doubt Bolas would just abandon this plan because of one planeswalker not appearing.
As for this precise flavor text... sadly that's far from the most ********ish flavor text by Jace, and I also need to see the context to make a decision on how crazy this phrase actually was.
Looking at the flavor text for Dispel, I'm thinking that they just decide to kill Ulamog rather than seal him.
People may be disappointed about this, but after reading Drana's UR this week, I'm pretty convinced that the Eldrazi actually do have a greater purpose in the Multiverse, and that the heroes are going to come to regret their actions (except for Ugin, who's just gonna be like, "ha ha, told you so!"
To destroy eldrazi heroes must first find out how it can be done. Lacking such method they may WANT to destroy for all they like.
Same with Lifespring Druid. I hope she's overestimating her abilities.
Here go the hopes of blue mythic a)being Jori En b)doing something cool and new. Really shouldn't think that long wait is there because Wizards are saving the reveal.
The part about vampires being eldrazi creations sounds quite strange since zendikari vampires are, plus-minus some horns, quite normal. Did eldrazi intentionally created something similar to one of common races? Are there other vampires created by eldrazi somewhere? Can it be that some other race was created, accidentally or not, by eldrazi?
I've interpreted Eldrazi calling material world "broken" as something referring to formation of worlds from blind eternities. Would very much want to see such cosmology piece further developed, and the piece of Drana thinking she can use the energy of eldrazi to get "there" (?) further explained. Also want to know what exactly happened to Kalitas and see that side of eldrazi-vampires interaction.
Vryn: how mage rings operate, who created them, what's so special about core regions.
Kaladesh (or was ir Kephalai? The one which is Chandra's home plane): filgree-like artifacts, artificers in red.
Ulgrotha: what happened to Segnirs, what happened to problems with mana.
Tiny but violent plane from planechase, the one with stadium and leviathan: just for aesthetics, it seems.
Pyrulea: for giant leaves and everything feeling very small.
Muraganda: primordial jungle full of dinosaurs? Gimme!
...got a bit carried away, it seems.

Edit: I also expected Ob Nixilis to pop up in today's story. "and now she'll go to Khalni heart and meet... what do you mean that was all for today?"

So many questions, so short UR...
