The As Foretold Living End Deck seems right up your alley.

Does the Bogles' player do well? That seems like a ripe meta for him.

He did at one point but everyone got tired of losing to it so there is a ton of sideboard hate for it :p

Favorite Playstyle (Aggro, Midrange, Control, Combo): Doesn't matter to me, don't like playing Vial decks though
How Competitive (For Fun, Local Tournament, MTGO, PTQ/GP): Would prefer as competitive as possible but if it trades competitiveness for high skill ceiling works for me
    Budget: $1k~
Staples Owned: All of affinity and ponza

    My meta is as follows:
    1 burn
    2 affinity
    1 mardu pyromancer
    1 tribal flames zoo
    1 bogles
    1 jeskai control
    1 GWr Value
    1 Blue Moon

What should I build to have the best chances against this field? Thanks for any help Smile

I play a list very similar to TCG requiem, except I have 4 cloudstone curio. Temur sabertooth has been utilized mostly in my flex spot. How do people feel about Temur sabertooth? I know CurdBros utilizes one, I personally have really liked the card and think it well deserves its spot as a one of MB.

To me it seems great in the combo version but less so in the aggro builds.

Yes I can record some footage. .. how do you want me to get it to you? I've got an FLV recorder.

YouTube would be great man c:

There is actually an entire standard deck based around abusing the shell of the Sabertooth and devotion.

Having a big payout coming up from alot of hard work over the last couple of months, I'm looking to buy into Modern for real.

Favorite Playstyle (Aggro, Midrange, Control, Combo): Combo and control, for sure. But I'm not a fan of Twin.
How Competitive (For Fun, Local Tournament, MTGO, PTQ/GP): For fun, local tournaments, might go to GP Copenhagen later this year.
Favorite Cards/Colors: I like blue, I like instants, I like reactive strategies in general. Although I played and greatly enjoyed Green Devotion in THS-RTR-M15 Standard, which was very proactive. I dunno. I like lots of things, but I'd prefer being reactive.
Budget: Essentially non-issue. But for reference, say 1000€.
Staples Owned: 3 Snapcasters, playsets of Remand, Path to Exile, Celestial Colonnade, Flooded Strand, Aether Vial, Restoration Angel.

Sounds like you would love scapeshift. Although it hasn't been putting up amazing results lately, it is still a great deck and will continue to be so in the long run.

Hello, Im in need of a bit of help. I've recently watched my lgs's meta shift drastically. I am playing MonoU Tron, but have been getting destroyed lately. I would love some help picking a deck that would do better against what I'm playing against.

My meta is roughly as follows.
    3 burn
    1 merfolk
    1 boggle
    1 affinity
    1 junk
    1 tokens
    And 2 infect.

So today at my modern night I was watching a match and my friend said he plays and recast dragon mantle 20,000 times. Does he deck himself or is there some sort of redo because it is regular rel? He has a way to win with grapeshot

What do you guys think about Chaos Warp as tech against Blood Moon? Obviously the chance that you could just flip another is there but it also answers any permanent threat we need to deal with now.

    Chaos Warp isn't modern legal.

Sorry for the late response, forgot to post it here. I have been playing this deck for about a week now, and so I took it to Game Day to see how it fared against other decks. I ended up going 3-1 and getting 6th walking away with a pretty Utter End and a few packs. The list I played was sub-optimal, as our LGS was out of a few cards.

The deck preformed surprisingly well even with the suboptimal choices.

    Round 1: Abzan Midrange
The first game went really fast as I basically drew a perfect aggro hand and he didn't find any Sylvan Caryatid or Seige Rhino. The second game was a really long game I can't recall most of. The main thing I remember was having him down to 10 and double Stoking him and then lightning strike for game.
    1-0

    Round 2: Some MBD Variant
The person I played was a fairly new player with a typical new-player-deck. It was basically a bunch of random black cards thrown it with a playset of gary. The games were fairly easy just running over him with multiple goblins and spirits.
    2-0

    Round 3: Ascendency Combo
Game 1 he got me turn 3, nothing I could do. Game 2 I had lethal on board. The only thing he needed was an ascendency off the top of the library to win it, which he indeed drew as his card per turn. I don't think there is much we can do in this matchup except try to kill them as quickly ass possible.
    2-1

Round 4: Mirror against my brother, who runs almost the same 75 except trading the walkers for rabblemasters.
Game 1 I got a really fast hand he unfortunately he didn't draw all of the burn he needed to kill Brimaz and Seeker. Game 2 was roughly the same, except this time the tables were turned, him coming out really fast and me missing most of my removal. Game 3 was really intense though. He lead off with a ton of goblin tokens, which were met with a ton of burn and Arc Lightning. In the end I ended up getting there with Purphoros on the field going from Hordeling Outburst into convoking Triplicate Spirits into convoking Stoke the Flames for the win.
    3-1

The deck is a blast to play and is solid against most decks I play against. I have yet to play against Jeskai Wins/Tempo, but when I do I will update here with my report.

I love control, but not the traditional pure control. I like when you can interact with your opponent, but while having a solid plan. e.g. MonoU Tron or RUG Scapeshift.

OK, show me a board state where an opponent is down to 8 life and it's a bad play to cast Dash Hopes against their spell over any other 2-drop in black.

This is very situational and requires certain scenarios to be effective. In most cases, cards that give your opponent a choice are not good enough for the competitive environment.

You literally just gave me a situation.

The card's two modes serve very, very different purposes

I should have my head examined for even humoring this troll carnival, but here goes:

On the board: I have 2 2/2 random bears and a Geralf's messenger with a counter on it so it's a 4/3. Opponent has no permanents. Opponent is at 8 life. It is their turn. They play Pyroclasm. I respond with Dash Hopes.

If they take the counter spell, I can swing for lethal -1 next turn. Given that I might draw a pump or other direct burn, I win next turn or almost definitely the turn after that.

If they take the five life, I'm out 2 2/2s, but still have a 4/3 and they'll be down to 3 life. I win next turn.

Had I not sided in Dash Hopes - WHAT could I have POSSIBLY played in its place? You tell me. Without a life tax against board wipes, I'm stuck with one 4/3 who has to survive two full turns without getting bolted by a red deck. With countering, I have 3 creatures instead of one, and the opponent is top-decking at this stage.

If you don't understand now, don't bother replying any further.

This is very situational and requires certain scenarios to be effective. In most cases, cards that give your opponent a choice are not good enough for the competitive environment.
