Why isn't Shardless BUG seeing much representation? What would it need to be popular again?

    Hello all,
I first time poster in this thread. I am going to SCG Dallas and I'm planing on taking Jund with me to play as the Legacy player for our team.

I wanted to talk about side boards in the new meta, what we should really have or not have. And also, Blood Sun something we could use vs. Lands?

Yeah Blood Sun sounds awesome. Instead of needing Pithing Needle to turn off the natural combo and Leyline of the Void to screw with their graveyard, we now get the benefits of Blood Moon without all the downsides.

At first glance it looks like a terrible Blood Moon but there are actually plenty of decks that want that kind of effect.

The thought of my opponent cascading into Hypergenesis makes me want to cry. Cards like Mental Misstep, Skullclamp, Treasure Cruise, Dig Through Time, and Blazing Shoal are perhaps too powerful.

TBH I probably went too far with Stoneforge and Jace because T3 uncounterable Batterskull is insane and Brainstorm in a format without it is pretty questionable.

I think that if you unban enough cards from different archetypes then the format balances itself.

Ban nothing but unban Birthing Pod, Deathrite Shaman, Ponder, Preordain, Jace, Stoneforge, BBE, Chrome Mox, Punishing Fire, Splinter Twin, Sensei's Diving Top, Summer Bloom, and Seething Song.

I looked on mtgtop8 to see if infect had any representation in the top decks but for some reason it isn't. Nearly all of the Legacy legal Infect deck is also legal. You get the same dudes like Glistener Elf Blighted Agent and pump spells like Vines of Vastwood and Invigorate.

It can even protect its creatures well with Apostle's Blessing. So what gives? Am I looking in the wrong place for the percent of competitive pauper decks in the meta?

    >So the burn MU is obviously troublesome but I've seen very little maindeck suggestions to solve that problem. From what I can see, the meta heavily favors linear aggro and burn so shoudn't we be packing relevant answers?

It's not nearly as bad as you think. I'm usually happy to see burn, except the Wild Nactal variant. Spellstutter Sprite is just amazing against them and so long as we are very careful and can do the math correctly, we will usually win (but only 55% to 45% - it's not a sweep). Khalitas is spectacular of course.
Aren't they all paying Wild Nacatl?

Not at all. Many burn lists for a time were running Nacatl but now that build has taken a back seat to the more standard Naya or Boros burn builds without Nacatl.
The last 5 Burn lists on mtgtop8 are playing Wild Nacatl and 11 of the last 20 are playing Wild Nacatl. The rest of the lists are a smattering of traditional burn, 8-Whack, and goblins. Wild Nacatl seems like an expected card.

If we branch into white we get Sphinx's Rev and Ojutai's Command. We get Punish Ignorance for anyone interested in really trying something different. We get Azorious Charm that not only gets us out of tight life totals but also doubles as pretty good removal and it cycles. Sorin, Solemn Visitor becomes quite a life saver and life taker.

Has anyone else had any ingenious ideas for the seemingly abysmal aggro MU?

I'm wondering about our Matchup against lands. In my are a there are two lands players and one will destroy me but the other one just loses to me. Do we just hope to remove their Loams? How do we fight such a resilient strategy?

What do you guys think about Shadow of Doubt?

When I faced a guy playing Esper Faeries it did work. Granted I was playing Scapeshift but I think it still has applications against anyone playing fetchlands and with us playing Path we get an advantage. Pretty good with Ghost Quarter too.

What do people think about Edric? I've seen Szabo's list with Judge's Familiars and no GSZ and thought it was pretty neat. Was thinking that maybe there was some innovation to be done with Edric.

Could the deck go Bant Rogues and play some combination of Cold-Eyed Selkie, Cloak and Dagger, and Thieve's Fortune? Try to play value and use Coiling Oracle alongside Snapcaster Mage? Try to get as much as we can out of Edric by playing Geist of Saint Traft and Brimaz for creatures that make multiple other creatures?

So many ideas and I just don't have the cards to make it happen.

Move over Eternal Garden. Legacy has another Prison deck comin at ya.

Stasis a thing now? It will be truly interesting to see how the Legacy meta responds to this. Doubt it will change that much. People will still play their favorite decks and Black Vise will probably do so little that it will be astounding. Just like the unbanning of Golgari Grave Troll in Modern.

I've seen lists with Rabblemaster as a thing to Cascade into and to make a board presence. Has it been shown to be worth it at all? From what I've seen of Jund it has dudes(expensive ones in BBE and sometimes Huntmaster of the Fells)but since they are our bombs they don't stay around long. Should decks put in 1 or 2 Bitterblossom? Rabblemaster? Pack Rat? Creakwood Liege? Other Jund colored token producers?

Now when DTT is gone, will more people jump to the Jund wagon?
Bought Jund today not because of DTT being banned but because Show and Tell was wrecking my Maverick deck. Why was Jund bad with DTT in the format? It sounds like any number of Deathrite Shamans is enough hate for it.

What's stopping this deck from being good? Does it just get hated out with Fulminator Mage and Kolaghan's Command? It's been a hit or miss deck even before that but I wasn't sure why. Is it because the format is too fast for a control style deck? Having to beat Wild Nacatls is just too hard?

The decks I lose consistently to are Bogles (oh my god I hate that deck) and recycling/graveyard strategies (sort of) because I only have so many counterspells for Unburial Rites, and mill.

Other than that they just have great hate in Ghost Quarter and Tectonic Edge. Should SBs include Boomerang for our own lands? I can usually win counter wars so Boseiju ain't the answer. Maybe Simic Charm to make my stuff untargetable? Boomerang sounds like the winner since Blood Moon is rough as hell and Repeal is a bit expensive for a similar effect.
