Uh oh. You can't edit posts in a forum game dude. That is to ensure you're not altering the contents of a post that could prove to be problematic to you in the future.

I get that you double-posted, but it's a cornerstone rule of Mafia. Here's hoping Proph is in a good mood today.

Remarks for posterity in case I end up dead overNight:

    1) There's a very high probability that the scumteam has a rolecop. If they do, it's possible that [REDACTED] ends up dead instead of me, in which case I'll probably hunt GJ down to the corners of the Earth. Possibly with a vigshot. Possibly.

    2) I'm torn the most on GJ, D_V (although I'm willing to give more value to Tom's read of him) and shadow. Of those, if I had to choose someone to scrutinize harder, would definitely be GJ, as he's the one that would better help us solve the game. You know, for science.

    3) Don't let Huntz skim the game by just because he's a double-voter. That's not a solid reason to be read as conftown and if he loses that vote somehow in the lategame, everybody will scramble and panic. So don't.

I think that sums it all up pretty decently.

4 out of 5 times since returning...
*inserts comment about me rolling basically all town this year in completed games except this game*

Ditto. I totes envy Shock's randomness guardian angel, it's uncanny.

Although at this point it's probably doing him worse than not. I'm getting a really demotivated vibe from him across the latest games since he's always the bad guy around lawl.

Sorry Shock, better luck next time :p

Seppel is reaction baiting in a situation where townies are going to get confused, and 33% of the time, the mafia think he is full of crap and 67% of the time the mafia knows he is full of crap.

Walk me through it as if I were a 5yo please.

Actually wait a second. There's something fundamentally wrong with Seppel's bait.

I'm going to assume Seppel is not dumb enough to actually be the Doctor because if that's indeed the case, he's the only town PR, which means he would be dead uncontested N1 and he would know it. I refuse to believe he would claim Doc in such scenario.

So why claim Doc? Obviously to fish for reactions. Plus, if he's town, is read as such and there's indeed a Doc in the game, the true Doc could protect Seppel, a very strong player, almost indefinitely and mess with scum.

But why exactly Doc? Why not any other town PRs, since there's three others?

He could for example claim Bodyguard and, if he's town, the end result would be the same: reaction baiting and attempting to mess with scum. Plus, a Bodyguard in the game means there's also either a Vig or a Jailer, who in turn would know that a Bodyguard is indeed a possibility and could, as such, also be more aware on the reactions Seppel's bait would generate in order to catch scum.

    But not Doc.

Doc is the SINGLE town role in this game that cannot coexist with any other town PRs.

We can have Vig + Bodyguard
We can have Jailer + Bodyguard
But if we have a Doc, it's just the Doc.

If Seppel had claimed Bodyguard, for example, a Vig or a Jailer in the game probably wouldn't have found Seppel's post such an oddity because that player would know that a Bodyguard would indeed be a possibility.
Same for Vig or Jailer: a Vig or a Jailer means that there could be a Bodyguard, so claiming Vig or Jailer wouldn't raise the Bodyguard's (if there's one) eyebrows.

But claiming Doc potentially raises the eyebrows of ANY town PRs we could have because they would KNOW FOR A FACT that Seppel is lying.

A Bodyguard KNOWS that a Doc isn't in this game, as per the rules, if s/he is. So does the Vig/Jailer, and so does obviously the true Doc as there can be only one. By claiming Doc and only by claiming Doc, Seppel could fish for the reactions of literally every town PR we could potentially have, and he's a good enough player to be well aware of that.

Seppel's true intent was to out our PRs, whichever they are. That's a scum mindset.

    Unvote
    Vote Seppel

    Can you clairfy what happened?

I was skimming the thread on my phone when I saw it and went like "WHY THE **** WOULD THE DOC OUT HIMSELF LIKE THAT", then noticed it was Seppel and that it was obviously a reaction bait. Idk what that bears in terms of his alignment, though.

@Ophidia: how experienced with Mafia are you?

shock's been super lowkey on interactions with anyone except Proph and ghosting, which bodes well. in fact a scum flip would support town!kosa and -!DV.

I'm virtually conftown (and I have a hint that scum know it) and will prolly be so mechanically in one or two Days tops.

Which actually sucks twice for scum because everytime I get a great PR I tend to play D1 erratically since I know I'm unlynchable but scum can't really take their time to NK me because there are always more important targets Laugh

After Shock flips the Mafia Roleblocker I'm 99% sure he is, this game is in our pockets.

Shock is lying. I won't delve into details as to how, but I do know for a fact that he's lying.

    Kill it with fire.

wait whut I'm gonna look at whoever said they were glad tom died closer I think like it might be alignment indicative in some way. It struck me just now players who had nothing to say about the game but wanted to comment on the gamestate. One of those oh ***** posts that scum make to break imaginary tension to see if night actions somehow revealed them. Did that make sense? God I hope so.

I feel like I should say go home you're drunk but I'm actually liking you here. Hm.

    Decisions, decisions.

So, in a role full of town PRs, I decided to either hold the roleblock, or not use it when I could have generated a ***** ton of WIFOM with Ghosting/DV instead? o-0?

There is no WIFOM. I was roleblocked, my latent ability is locked. Just to add more to it though, I don't shoot tom in any circumstance when I am scum.

But I never said you actually are the roleblocker...?

Also, the point on Tom not only is WIFOM but a contradiction. You were the one that said NK'ing you would make sense because you were one of the most active players (the most active as of N1), which denotes your logic regarding NKs. Tom was the second most active player tied with Ghosting, a neutral. So really, come and tell me that you shooting Tom doesn't make sense if, by your own words, it does.

Well, he doesn't know what I targeted him with. I imagine regardless of his alignment, he was a likely target to be shot, tracked, copped, frisked, whatever *target scummy player* ability you want to insert. I wouldn't expect him to bat an eye.

Pray tell, how can you boldly affirm that he doesn't know what you targeted him with?

From the no-lynch, to the protect me, to the the latent ability, I was breadcrumbing pretty hard I had a relevant ability. It would have been very stupid for a townie to roleblock me.

To a townie roleblocker scumreading you, that wouldn't matter at all and you would be blocked regardless, so your point is moot.

Well it ******* worked unless Shockwave wants to claim ascetic. And since ghosting is claiming redirect, along with DV, that's pretty ******* unlikely.

Or you're lying about the roleblock to have your Night action "accounted" for. Both of us can play the WIFOM game, my friend.

And, of note, Shock didn't even blink an eye when you said you had targeted him. Virtually no mention of or curiosity upon it, which I find highly unlikely behavior for a townie to engage on. It makes me believe that he already knew he was targeted by you so it didn't come off as a surprise, which means either:

    1) he has some kind of knowledge regarding who targets him, or;
    2) you're scumbuddies that discussed that fakeclaim in the Mafia Chat.

If a townie was stupid enough to roleblock me, I don't actually care and we probably lose the game.
Lolwut? What exactly makes you think town roleblocking you, from the standpoint of said townie, would be a stupid idea?

    I'm town.

Chip this away bro, chip it away.

You're not quite there yet. Your claim is boggling my mind right now.

1). It literally doesn't effect the town, so zero harm.

2). I wanted to see if I could draw a roleblock.

That's my problem with it. You wanted to see if you could draw a roleblock by claiming to have your latent unlocked if you were targeted by non-killing abilities?

"Oh that GJ guy claimed that he'd unlock his latent if he's targeted by a non-killing ability."

"Hmmm he must be gambitting cus he's got a really good Night action. So lets bite it and roleblock him regardless."

    Like.

    Weird

And it actually does affect the town. Because you're considering that only scum could roleblock you, when in fact it's pretty common for town to have any kind of redirects/roleblocks in Specialties, which, if you're town, would never be better used on you as it would be on scum.

@KK: You mentioned that you could prove your ability. No one else other than me claimed RB. Can you confirm your ability (if asked to)?

    Yes.
