I like the idea of Nahiri attempting to trap Emrakul in Innistrad's moon; she can seal the Eldrazi away and spite Sorin at the same time.

I think the time frame is a bit soon for it though, and I'm not sure if Nahiri cares about the Eldrazi at the moment. I also feel that Emrakul shouldn't suffer any setback so soon, even if it's temporary.

I think it would be more appropriate for Emrakul to stay out-of-sight, subtly corrupting the inhabitants of Innistrad rather than going out and consuming the world like Ulamog and Kozilek.

Personally, I think Ob looking like a generic villain is less because of the writing and more because that's what he looks like when we're not inside his head. Ob is an exceptionally well-written generic villain, but a generic villain nonetheless.

    Yes, I remember that discussion.

I think the good/evil scale doesn't work with entire guilds: good and evil are left to individuals within the guild. The lawful/chaotic scale fares only a bit better. While there are some guilds that can reasonably be placed on the lawful/chaotic scale (Azorius lawful, Rakdos chaotic), some guilds can stretch across the spectrum, and Boros is the biggest one.

I made two Boros alignment charts: one from before Gatecrash, and another in 2014, a few years later. Martial Glory works better in the Neutral Good slot, while Swift Justice is good in the True Neutral slot. Both Wojek Embermage and Renounce the Guilds work equally well in the Lawful Evil slot. Shattering Blow worked fine, but the first version with Wojek Siren was simpler and got the point across better.

As for RW... as there are plenty of ways particular colors can be expressed, there are also many ways particular color pairs can be expressed. V is one way to express RW; the Boros are another. Some versions of RW may feel passionate about enforcing the law, while others follow their own moral codes irrespective of any law.

Come to think of it, the Eldrazi Scion can be used as a chump blocker with flash.

Them winning wouldn't be a problem if they made the eldrazi feel threatening, like a legitimate force, zendikar should of been destroyed in the process or at least one of the walkers should of died.

I really don't get this at all. Zendikar was very nearly destroyed, as in the land itself nearly gone, whole continents scoured clean most civilizations consumed. Millions dead (or if the population isn't that high, then probably 90-95% of what used to live)

Why does the last scrap of land and resistance need to be snuffed out before we can declare them to be a bona fide threat?

Devi's advocate: Since the Eldrazi are touted to be 100% plane-eating threats, seeing them be 90-95% plane-eating threats makes them seem weaker than expected.

    Zendikar Resurgent
The battle was won, though the war was far from over. Inspired by the victory, the soldiers of Zendikar fought with renewed courage against the teeming Eldrazi broods. For the first time, the Eldrazi showed something akin to fear. They were no longer willing to stand their ground in the face of certain death, and the hordes were scattered. All across Zendikar, the beleaguered people of the plane found new strength for the fight and drove the Eldrazi away from the remnants of civilization.
Exhausted, the four Planeswalkers looked down on the glyph they had seared into the ground, amid the ashes and charred remains of the Eldrazi titans. Even as they stood watching, the blackened lines of the glyph began to writhe and then erupted with verdant growth. Grass burst up from the blasted earth with unnatural speed, and twisting vines spread along the lines of the glyph. Nissa smiled at the knowledge that new life lay ahead for Zendikar.

Lands ravaged, cities in ruins, so many lives sacrificed—and yet there was no other word for it but victory." —from The Halimar Chronicle

As glorious as a victory as they had won, the members of the Gatewatch all knew that the three Eldrazi titans has been unleashed upon Zendikar. Though Emrakul had not been seen in weeks, the third titan was still alive somewhere—perhaps slumbering in the earth or sea as Kozilek had been, perhaps on some other plane. The work of the Gatewatch was not yet done.
So the planeswalkers formed a new plan. Jace would leave Zendikar in search of Sorin Markov and Nahiri, who had abandoned Zendikar to the Eldrazi. Perhaps they would know how Emrakul might be found or had heard some word of where the third titan had already gone. Gideon, Nissa, and Chandra, meanwhile, would split up and search Zendikar for any sign of Emrakul. Along the way, they would help the people of Zendikar eliminate the remaining Eldrazi broods and rebuild what the Eldrazi had destroyed. They agreed to reconvene at Sea Gate, for as long as one Eldrazi titan remained, the Multiverse still had need of the Gatewatch.

Well, I'm pretty satisfied, but I suspect I interact with fictional works differently than most people.

Nissa releasing the Eldrazi is now confirmed still canon, after it was hinted at in the past few stories.

I would have liked to see Ob help save Zendikar our of pure necessity. It would be the ultimate expression of pragmatic B to save a plane you utterly hate because you need to do so.

We already knew the story was headed in this direction though, so I am content.

If these are fakes, they're really good fakes.

I'm inclined to say they're real, since the art is new.

As for Teysa doing it for the good of Ravnica: it's subtle, but it's there.

"In consonance with the New Accord of the Guild of Ravnica, you are granted the right of exposure and are obligated by duty to present your evidence of financial corruption to the Living Guildpact," Teysa said through happy tears.

"Everything about the Obzedat, everything about how our guild has functioned is wrong in the eyes of the law."

On Zendikar, they aren't written as cosmic horror. Zendikar is/was adventure world: horrific revelations about our place in the universe don't fit there. On a more fitting setting like Innistrad, though, where evil lurks around every corner, I think they can be written as cosmic horror. I disagree with the idea that there is only one absolute way to play a trope.

I don't think this block will contain Eldrazi, but I'd be perfectly fine with it if it does. Cosmic horror can potentially work a lot better on Innistrad than Zendikar.

I am delighted to have a Sphinx. That's all that matters to me.

Ezuri seems to be UG. How will that work?

"Progress" is a word that's associated with the U Progress Engine, rather than the G Vicious Swarm.

Maybe the blue Phyrexians caught Ezuri and compleated him to spite Vorinclex and Glissa?
