I saw this and found it entertaining but not in an action packed way of course, but in terms of dialogue and premise. I had no idea what it was about and because of that I was very much intrigued the entire way through.
It was somewhat creepy as well. All in all I would like to watch it again to pick up some of the smaller nuances I likely missed.
I saw the movie after keeping myself away from forums and FB so I could go in fresh. I only saw the trailers. Old enough to have grown up on the original trilogy and while I understand that the sequels are a bastardization of Star Wars for many fans, for some reason, despite their flaws, I find them "part of the story" and enjoy them for what they are.
Episode 7,
I came away underwhelmed! Most my friends/peers, the media etc, seemed to fall in love with the film, either that or there were a lot of censored critics out there.
It's a reboot that doesn't stand alone like the film it's more or less trying to emulate. What made ANH so good IMO is that it could have been 1 and done and it still wouild have been a great film.
I felt like I was watching Guardians of the Galaxy wrapped up in Star Wars merchandaising.
I really liked the Star Trek reboot, it felt like Star Trek but in many ways it was even better. I can't say the same thing for Star Wars.
Now, I plan to see it again, perhaps it will grow on me. I had high expectations because all my friends loved it, maybe now that I have much lower expectations I can see it again and get a fairer perspective.
I really liked the new art on Tarmogoyf until I compared it to vengevine, upon which I just felt like they were to similar, (all pack art here, not sure what appears when lnked) which altered my thought process. I just can't get past the fact that they look too alike, but perhaps that's just me. I was never married to the FS art, and the frame was before my time in standard. However, that all said, I have grown to love that old FS border and now b/c the art is "harder to see" as someone put it, I actually vastly prefer it.
I never owned a Goyf till we got heavy into cubing and only recently did I pick one up. I went FS frame as it will hold it's value the best long term as well. They won't ever reprint that frame so if I must have Green's most Iconic creature, it may as well be originial
See bud,
I disagree. I can't stand the FS border and the original art is pretty weak. The new MM art makes Goyf out to be a beast, which he truly is competitively. I think it is spot on flavor wise.
But the one who spends the money is the one who gets to pick. Ultimately you are right as far as an investment goes
This card doesn't even give me pause to ponder the possibilities in an MP environment. There are too many "less risky" things to be doing which are far more powerful.
The <> symbol is colorless mana. A mana producer that made1 now makes <>. If <> is in a mana cost, that part of the cost can only be paid using colorless mana.
Can someone explain this new colorless thing for me. Isn't the new symbol just a colorless symbol without a number associated with it? Or am I way out to lunch?
That being said, as I see it, it's a card cubers should pick up for a later date, but not necessarily to jam in right now.
It's an interesting card. I love how early it comes out, and the army in a can + ability. However a more expensive Ajani Goldmane second ability is really lackluster and hurts the card. If it were -1 effect it would be a lot beter. The infinite is a decent card draw which green can always use, the lifegain is probably meh most the time, but you never know.
On the fence at 540 Multiplayer. We do support tokens heavily so it might get some votes for testing. Hard to say what it would replace.
Great cubing session the other day. I am liking the increased power, although I think Jon misses Phyrexian Obliterator. Taxing control is getting strong and we all know you are the one who benefits the most from that
I like the elf creature type but I really wish it was a 4/4 with trample. Considering the power creep in the game, it feels like it should be a 3CC card, but perhaps I am just being greedy.
Either way, it's a pass from me, but I will run it by the rest of the group
Legendary grounded Vampire Nighthawk (with different casting requirements) and a couple of abilities waiting to be abused in certain archetypes. Too bad she's not a vampire as well.
Seems like an easy test at 540 MP - Utter End likely gets cut

This can flashback 35 spells in our MP cube. w=7 u=8 b=6 g=4 multi = 10 So, plenty of targets 3CC and under.
At first I was thinking a poor man's late game Snapcaster, but lack of flash relegates it mainly to sorcery speed.
Our red 5 drops are pretty good at this point, makes it tough to find a cut for it.
Thanks, I get it now!
