I am thinking of choosing a God as my General, but want to pick one that can fly below the radar bit. How would you rank the following 15 Gods as a General from most threatening to least threatening, if you were sitting down to a multiplayer table without any other knowledge about the deck? My rankings:
I have a more casual Kuon deck which uses a lot of the Pestilence/Innocent Blood type of effects but is otherwise strictly Ogre/Demon tribal to give it a bit of a thematic bent. Lots of fun! Also remember Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is a great include because you will almost always have the 3 devotion necessary to at least break even with it thanks to Kuon.
You forgot Eldrazi and Blightsteel Colossus. Both can win you the game very quickly if you get an early Bribery. I've also enjoyed getting utility creatures like Oracle of Mul Daya if you just want to get a bit of advantage but not become a target.
You can always sac Academy Rector to fetch Steal Enchantment, then put it into play on the Helix Pinnacle. This effect does not target and is an answer to almost any situation
I like blue but don't like playing against blue decks that combo out too quickly for the game to be fun, so I have been running a Llawan, Cephalid Empress deck for awhile. It stops 90% of the most broken decks from getting out their general early by running a ton of counterspells and getting Llawan as soon as possible with artifact mana. Those two things give the other "fair" decks in the game enough time to get up and running so we can have a real game. If not playing with Llawan, I also really enjoy RG with tons of blue hosing effects. Carpet of Flowers in particular is awesome.
I've been putting together an Atogatog deck with the goal of humiliating opponents if I actually win. The two combos I'm going for are Barren Glory + any atogs that let me eat all my permanents and hand, and the Xenograft/Conspiracy, plus Mycosynth Lattice + March of the Machines + Insurrection + some combat step doublers to eat all the things, then smash face one at a time. It will be a terrible deck but if I ever win I will be so pleased.
On a more serious note, I got beat by a Horde of Notions today that made good use of the general by getting Avenger of Zendikar and other elementalish things into play for cheap.
I like it except for Humility. Humility is a fantastic control card but nowhere near strong enough to need banning in a format full of ramp and huge bombs.
I don't like having to keep playing mono blue commanders (pick one), but I'll keep doing it as long as people bring combo decks so I can reliably have enough counterspells to shut them down.
I did playtest a version with 12 Leylines and 4 Serum Powder, 4 Gitaxian Probe, 4 Street Wraith last night and it was still incredibly inconsistent. Back to the drawing board.
Not so much interested in competitive but I think the addition of Nykthos and Spirit of the Labyrinth give it some potential. Just trying to brainstorm ideas. Humility and Rest in Peace probably belong in there somewhere too now that I think of it.

What other broken plays are possible?
