Thinking of brewing Alesha as a return back into commander. Had to sell off four decks to do the old adulating thing. Seems the threads I have been reading on other sites take Alesha into the Aristocrats route. If so would skin invasion be playable? Also didn't see the Anafenza + Redcap combo.
See that's the thing. 2 damage which can be spent to knock something off the table or be able to back up with rest of burn suite or do I want another dude. Again, think it just goes back to what the other creatures are? Traditional zoo doesn't share a creature type. Currently running the new human zoo with a much larger budget; same philosophy until we can get a blitz thread going and figured Maulers (Haste) vs Marauders (Burn). A 4/4 on T2 that just burned isn't fun to stare at and neither is a 3/3 with partner after buffs. Remove the 4/4 and you still get burned one and we can use the standard burn package to scoot through.
Second. Ran into this last night. Four new guys show up to our little shop and most of them went 4-0 against casual test decks that we were all practicing with due to 80% of our usual player base were out graduating. Sure most of us coped but how they acteded wasn't professional. Don't care if you had sponsorship shirts on.
Curious, I am using mostly the commonly used land at around 18-20 lands, with about 32 one and two drops with a bare minimum on burn.
However, can someone help explain more on which land like Kessig, Township, and Stronghold we should run? Not even convinced I should be mainboarding ghost quarter.
I may not be professional but I do prefer teaching / coaching than actually playing the game and having fun that way. Sure I may be a die hard commander player but getting the new players excited for getting either good plays in or better decks built is more for me. Think it came with age in High school all I did was play magic and got into some fun ranked leauges and now I am in my career and just want to enjoy the game.
But not sure if anyone remember the almost ESPN coverage magic had in the what mid to late 90s? good stuff to watch even if ratings were real low and then they went onto video games and then well poker fad hit.
I was thrilled by it too, until I saw they didn't make stat blocks for the Eldrazi, not even the titans. I would've loved to have Ulamog/Emrakul/Kozilek unleash hell on an unsuspecting campaign, and I was looking forward to seeing how their reality-warping effects translated to D&D. Oh well.
I am sure that will come down the road. Isnt Zedikar heavily inspired by D&D...like to the point of reused art?
Worse case scenario use reskins. We are actually testing this out tonight seeing my weekly DM is busy with work (we work at same place).
I guess you could force the action with Prey Upon like someone mentioned. You just have to be prepared for your opponent to Path, Dismember, etc. in response so you can scoop on the spot.
I actually second this idea. I have been running BG Fight Club (OH I SAID IT!) with Obliterator and Foe-Razer as the high drops. Right now only deck that sees him often is his own, BG Rock.
This looks pretty good. Been playing Naya humans and wanting to drop out red. How has it been preforming? Also stupid question but with all the counters why not one of the enchantments that help increase it?
Well I would ask that you post what you have been testing against, because that is very important. Also, can you direct us to a list (http://modernnexus.com/deck-of-the-week-naya-humans/ ???) so we can understand the cards you are playing in context with your environment?
Firstly i dont know about monastery swiftspear myelf and I have to ask about your experience with Kytheon
I am actually running that list right there with just adjustments to the manabase seeing I don't have access to Cavern and running Skarrgan Pit-Skulk along with some hate against the local meta. Kytheon I actually have not gotten him out. All the games he just hasn't shown up in a draw, I am currently running 3 of him. I do think that new human in SOI might be good and get more into the "Poor Players Goyf" approach and drop the burn that most Naya plays into. Not a big fan of Bant.
I have been playing modern for several months now and I have completed a deck. However, I feel that I may have over prepped with the new set coming out and hopefully try to relive the Standard Human Tribal days of Innistrad 1. So in short, I have developed and amassed a bunch of human cards based off of a collection I acquired from a player who was big into standard and built a humans deck from that rotation. I am in the process of modifying it into the current modern setting. Recently it just hasn't been preforming the way I thought it should and was hoping I could get a pep talk and see if its worth working onto it more or just let it collect dust again? Right now its Naya colors and mostly based off of the Gatlinberg list that got 5th from late last year. I don't think this warrants a primer or a post in the other areas right now. Yes, I know its not a traditional list but wondering what am I doing wrong and maybe this is a side affect of playing too much commander and my brewing skills are still set differently or is there a list that is slowing being developed to bring this tribe back in a bit more?

Now does anyone have a good build to abuse Varloz with? Right now I just hope they don't block and hit them with infect.
Jund Dredgevine, Infect, Mardu something not sure.
