I did face a Wee/Fiend deck in round 3 I think. Think I won it 2-0. Was that you. :-)?
Edit: But it's a good example of a deck that has a better (=faster) counterpart in Infect. If for no other reason, they don't need time to setup and can play their creature on turn 1. However this deck isn't cold to Standard Bearer and has access to some other good cards due to the colours it plays.
Yea your storm deck was my only loss for the entire daily. I need to figure out a plan against storm that isn't "hope to god I can counter one of your card draws/heavy mana sinks".
Hey Guys I just picked this deck up on MTGO. What exactly is Life's Roar used as? Is the channel ability used or is it cast for 2 and used as a baiter away from the major attack?
Hey, just getting back into Magic after a super long break. So far I've just been playing casual kitchen table games. I was checking out what to order for a new deck, and found Affinity, and really liked it. I was just hoping to get some feedback from you guys before I put the order in. Here's what I'm thinking;
I played against RUG twice and was totally unprepared for it in my sideboard. I wish I had had Meekstones. I like your choice of Cursed Totem too (which also seems relevant against Stoneforge Mystic and Griselbrand, etc.)
I played fair decks till round 7 where a sneak show deck ruined my life. The cursed totem was very good against the Maverick decks (even if they had to go fetch up a sliver to destroy it, it gave me turns to win).
The RUG matchup was insanely biased to me. I had 2 goyfs, 2 mongooses and 2 flipped delvers tapped down with the thing at one time with only 5 artifacts on the board.
I participated in the St. Louis StarCity Open this past weekend. Didn't do so hot, but did learn some useful things from the experience. 1 - Grafdigger's Cage in the sideboard was a surprisingly good choice. I chose it for Reanimator and Maverick matchups, but it turned out to be very good against MUD combo too. The card is good against a lot of different archetypes. I was very glad I had it.
I went 3-4 at SCG STL with affinity actually. I found that I destroyed RUG Delver with Meekstone and Maverick couldn't do anything past a cursed totem.

(Hive Kind did you face a Wee Dragonauts deck on Tuesday by any chance?)
Are there any decks built to use this engine to go into large creatures?
Etched Champion is your main win condition I found out. Outside facing other Affinity decks and maze of ith its has basically protection Meta Game.
