It wins by drowning the opponent in CA and value. That's why I think Judges Familiar is better in that spot. Wingcrafter has synergy with Ninja, but it seems too cute.
It has control elements, but it's a tempo deck by heart. Delver is needed to put a clock on the opponent because the deck can't deal with threats stuck on the board. Swinging for 3 a turn compared to 2 or 1 is pretty huge.
In Michigan, Modern died of cardiac arrest 72 hours after GP Detroit, so unfortunately I have no way to play this deck anymore. I'd love to try this card, though. Most likely sideboard.
I'm curious, does anybody on this forum have a local Modern scene where at least 16 people routinely come to play each week? Assuming your area doesn't have a Modern GP coming up in the next 3-6 months, that is. I'm wondering if this is still just a MODO format. It's insane to think that hundreds of people in my area paid hundreds of dollars for these Modern decks and seriously never came back once after after the GP. I'd been trading Affinity cards to new Modern players for months up until this point. We went from 45-man tournaments leading up to the GP to a 4 man 2 weeks after.
Back in my hometown, Modern FNM was averaging anywhere from 9-20 people.
Since I moved out of town to college, I haven't played in a Modern weekly in about 1-2 months, but I think there was around 25 players in that event.
It's not hard at all to keep up devotion and she is the best card in the deck because you get to scry every turn. It is the card you want active as soon as possible on turn 3 in almost every matchup. In a sense it's pretty similar to how Bitterblossom functioned for Faeries.
If you watch all the interviews and deck techs, Big Z, Sam Black, Kai, and Nassif, pretty sure all of them made it clear that Thassa is the best card in the deck. Of course that is only their opinion.
It depends on the match up. If you are against Midrange, Thassa, Specter and Master are big players. Against aggro, Tidebinder, Frostburn and Master are your big players. Against Control, Thassa and Specter are your champs.
Master is probably the best card in the deck just because he is good in more match ups than most of the others. Thassa can bury your opponent though.
Thassa is the best card in the deck by far. Master of Waves can either be very backbreaking or unplayable depending on the matchup. Kai Budde mentioned that you would board them out in some matchups, I assume one of them would be something like Esper Control.
If you end up cutting Probe, you're going to have to add more lands to compensate for lack of cantrips which in turn makes Delver worse.

For MTGO meta, mtggoldfish is fine. If you want paper events included, try mtgtop8.
The deck can't really capitalize off of tempo plays.
Golem token can block Etched Champion and you can continue making them with Resto and Kiki Jiki.
You could argue the players on mono blue were well prepared against the Esper decks compared to vice versa.

Usually Chandra just +1's the first time, then uses the +0 ability until she dies.
