Some suggestions for items that might warrant some discussion for the ten commandments.
-cutting a color. Should we consider it? If/when/how do we decide.
-archetype support. How many can we comfortably support with a 90/120/180 or more card pool?
-should specific archetypes be a focus to extend the diversity/playability of a smaller cube? For example, a token archetype could potentially make a small cube 'play' much larger.
Anyway, just some thoughts I've been having. Suggestions and comments are appreciated.
To specify, I'm referring to the 4-pack Swiss Sealed events.
So, the general rule of thumb I read about is this:
8-4 draft for competition.
Swiss draft for increased game time/experience.
What is the consensus on 4-RND Swiss Sealed?
Other than it being a sealed event, how do you guys think the prize support for the format works out?
My thinking, I don't have to pay extra tickets in order to play, and I end up with 4 packs of cards vs. the 3 I'd have in a draft event. Not to discount the fact that you choose the cards you want in draft format.
And with prize support at 5 packs for the first place finisher, the prize support seems to be alright.
I have to admit there was some hesitation there over the magmaquake and the aven. I think it came down to I knew the aven negated the effects of the quake, and if I could get more flies, I could play around it in a way.
The major hang up I had was whether or not to take the second switcheroo. I thought it was potentially two high cost of a card to put 2 in the deck, and I thought I needed the removal more. Even if it isn't the best removal of the set.

Played in my first 8-4 MTGO Draft tonight. I ended up placing second. Be gentle, but I do see where I could have possibly had a good run at a green deck, with a splash of white for the devine verdicts (the only removal I really saw.)
Well, that depends. Is the Article Aven sporting a single piece of clothing? Is it a journalist? Does it love saying "a," "an," and "the" before its name? These things matter when choosing a card.
That said, regardless of the answer, I'm taking Pacifism.

One note: the decks are 30 cards and NOT 40 as in limited. This makes mill very viable. considering I was decked and lost a round in both matches.
