Just wanted to point out, that even if it's mythicness is a bit lacking, they do seem large, and putting a rider on top of them would be an insult to the creatures.
I can't believe this thread is SO full of whiners. Hero's downfall is SO good, feels too good for a rare! This is the SECOND card that can kill PWs. And the FIRST to do so at Instant speed. It was really disgusting reading all the people that were whining about the rarity of the card. Next thing will be people complaining why a PW is mythic.
Actually 4 lands 1 spell is a great outcome if you have enough answers. That sets you up for lands as far as that game will need. In case they fear the 4 card advantage you still get land and spell.
I can see this converting the Elf deck into a Gruul deck. Elvish Mystic, Gyre Sage, Zhur-taa druid, Sylvan Caryatid, Nykthos and Xenagos... Add in Garruk, Polukranos, Kalonian Hydra... And you've got a good ammount of ramp and a decent way to get extra value.
BTE and having other 1 drops make this card a little better, although I'm not too excited about his ability, it's better than what it feels at first glance. T3 BTE into hammer is a strong move, and kind of smoothes the double red need for Ash Zealot. So T1 Cackler, T2 Ash Zealot, T3 BTE into Hammer, is a decent start, setting perfectly for a T4 big beater.
I can also see this working wonderfully with Young Pyromancer...
Card is awesome. I want at least 1 for any mono white aggro deck. With the new legendary land, you can actually cast this t4-t5 reliably, except vs control, and vs control, if you drop this you are in a really good position to win.
I tried a list with fuse cards, and found out that 25 lands can still get clunky! besides that, I found that I was never really excited about boundless realms, siding them out, and really love devastating tide. Main combo is to devastation tide, temporal mastery some times and drop tons of tokens to hit for the win. Almost milled myself out a few times, I would consider psychic spiral as alternate win con. I tried a 4 colour (splashing white for devotion, call and well) list, but I am thinking about going 5 colour (increasing ambition, door, army, rakdos's return, entering//breaking...). But probably the deck will be dead once Temporal Mastery rotates. Going to try to make a RTR block Epic Exp list....
I think of it as a Fervor that comes with a 3/3 body and besides haste gives +2/+0.... Where is the drawback again?
Any creature that comes with friends has great synergy with this guy. Before they rotate, Huntmaster of the Fells, the above mentioned and all the undying have great synergy.
Have you thought about homicidal seclusion?
I know its deficiencies: high mana cost and tapping out is bad.
But I think it synergizes very well with ethereal armor and situations that render you vulnerable.
Maybe in your 75?
22 Lands sound a bit too greedy imho.
