What if I control an unanimated Mutavault and activate Sorin's ability, then activate it on my opponent's turn? I assume it still wouldn't have those characteristics because it wasn't a creature at the time but I just want to be sure.
Also, unless I'm misreading something, the damage redirected was inflicted by your opponents creature. So no matter what Five-Alarm Fire reads you wouldn't get a bonus for the Carom.

I really like this one. this is what I think wizards would use. even though flash doesn't seem like a "red" ability, reverberate on a creature with a more accessible cost would be run in any deck that even thought about red.
Everyone should have a fun deck but strive to build a competitive deck as well. Playing with new groups can be used just as a margin of difference between where you are and where you could be.
Most of my decks are fun and people like seeing the neat things they can do, but I always keep my Bruna, Light of Alabaster shuffled and ready in case anyone ever wants a challenge.
Unfortunately--and as far as I know--there are no official rules that stop a player from conceding the game at split-second speed [meaning that if you try to do something in response to them conceding, they can just concede again in response].
We had a guy in our playgroup who always scooped in response to damage when the damage was lethal and had a creature with lifelink attacking. Yes, it's unsportsmanlike; but it is a valid strategical move. Why would you help the guy who is technically "beating" you win the rest of the game?
It's not a strategy I agree with, but I can see somebody justifying it.
I agree with what seems to be the general consensus. People don't play it because it draws attention--it sets everybody behind and everyone who didn't play the spell sees it as unnecessary. But, to me, it's a completely viable strategy.
Your opponents decks need lands to run so taking them away seems good in my book.
We always just try to keep it fresh with silly ideas for gameplay change. There's a thread on here for a variant called Sheriff [or Cowboy, depending on which one you see first]. That's always a good time. Also, people tend to forget about Archenemy. I LOVE that format.
all of the titans except for Frost get way overplayed. that should go without saying now. one card every green deck in our playgroup runs but i'm actually NOT bored with is Genesis Wave. For red, it's Insurrection.
the problem is Genesis Wave is more of a "secure investment" than Primal Surge. Primal surge can exile a win condition while genesis wave just puts it in the graveyard which we all know is a merely temporary resting place.
Darien can get uber dirty. I've found that White is the most powerful color in the game, but not so much when used on its own. Every deck I've used white in, even if it was a splash, its noticeably impacted the game. It works well with every color!

That deck is mean...
