    personally for me if i were to go for pimp tron lands it would be one of each antiquities art. So in that sense i dont think the 8th ed foils are all that special and a reprint would hurt that.

    I wish theyd just implement an auction house type thing like MMOs use and also implement a low tax (5%~). This would both take points out of the system and let the market correct inflation by itself. This also saves us the trouble of the PP value they assign to cards since the sellers can set their own price.

    typically a couple times a year (like 3-4), i dont think the discount has gone higher then 15/20 %. It used to be that they just had a flat out discount, but i guess a store credit bonus isnt bad either

    I'd imagine that it will, were still just under a week since conspiracy 2's release. I'm going to use an example of a foil from conspiracy that ive been following for a while (because i too bought it while the set was currently in print), the card being Exploration. It started out high since it's the only foil version of it, but it has been stable at 30-35 for the past 2 years. Exploration before being reprinted was something like 35$, then the conspiracy printing put it to 6-9. Foils of it always had a high price multiplier (like 600%?). While the comparison between exploration and IoK isnt exactly ideal it might be useful to see the trend of an indemand foil rare from conspiracy without any prior foil printings, which has stabilized at 30-35$ without any real price spikes. I think the new printing will be cheaper then original ROE foils (but to be honest i think this art is probably better looking in foil) due to age and the foil purists. If i were to make a guess i'd say 25-30 foils is very realistic, wait until WoTC dangles the new shiny carrot in front of mtg players' eyes with Kaladesh and youll find conspiracy 2 prices stabilize and foils will be cheaper to pick up.

    probably 12 normal mythics and the one mythic conspiracy sovereign's realm. I find this kind of funny because they sort of sneaked this on us during oath of the gatewatch but now we have small sets sitting at 12 mythics instead of 10 which i feel is a ploy to sell more packs because now the chase mythics are harder to pull. I guess this is their way of selling more packs of small sets now that they rotate 6 months earlier.

    I feel the opposite, i wish there more threats or good villains in this game. We've had no real good conflict since scars of mirrodin block and ever since then its been happy fun time with random planes (i know i know, there was dark ascension and a little bit of xenagos). Well what i mean is that story wise it's been quite bland since Innistrad, for example;

    Return to Ravnica (no meaningful conflict, rehash of ravnica with little to none intriguing storyline),

    Theros (More of a setting then a story, basically a random planeswalker [Xenagos] with no real aspirations becomes a god and now we must defeat him for some reason?),

    Khans of Tarkir (once again mostly a bland setting with a tinge of asian influences, the story is basically to save ugin who for all intents and purposes doesnt even do anything meaningful),

    Battle for zendikar (at least theres a conflict but the whole thing felt rushed, maybe because its a 2 set structure now but basically we got the build up in BFZ, then in OGW we got both the conclusion and climax in one set all ruined by one card Fall of the titans way to go WOTC).

    All in all though, i feel WoTC trying to focus on storytelling as they have said has been a failure, i'd rather have a subtle overarching story instead of their in your face Super-powered planeswalkers hero stories that theyre trying to tell. But then again they are a business, and their market is the teen - young adult age group so theyre are only building a product that caters to their main audience so this isnt surprising really.

    I remember pretty vividly when modern masters 1 came out the singles were dirt cheap by december. It wasnt uncommon to see certain cards on sale on channelfireball for instance (that's when i got my 10$ doubling seasons). Considering it has the same print run size as MM1 i would not worry about it just yet, you probably have at least until january before cards might start climbing again. This trend occurred with mm15 as well, because i remember eyeing spellskites and it wasnt until early this year the cards have been climbing in price. Another factor that may help suppress prices is the fact that there is considerably lower demand for legacy/edh high priced staples then modern staples and i can see lots of force of wills rotting in "Standard Player A"'s binder then going towards a playset so they can compete in legacy. I can go on but from my experience august through december might be the best time to buy singles of EMA.

    A quick look says card kingdom is buying them for 30 off of buylist, and that is cash not their +30% for storecredit option. so youd make 8$ just by doing that (which is not the ideal means of getting rid of them). And if your looking to move them fast, i agree with sealteamfive's plan of lowering their trade value in order to profit quickly.

    I think i remember seeing it in the sideboards of zoo or burn decks, as a cheap way to get decent threats and make use of land flood.

    go up to 25-26 lands, 22 seems far too few for what this deck is trying to do, along with the fact that there is no ramp. Id also toss in warping wail aka eldrazi charm, since its versatile and should help you in different scenarios in casual legacy. Cards i'm not a fan of are deceiver of forms, not of this world, scour from existence, and dragon throne of tarkir. Can probably replace those with some simple things like hedron archive and the like so you can actually help cast some of your higher end stuff. Just some random thoughts, i play 12 post in legacy so i started with something similar a few years ago, but it was monogreen wall ramp with overgrown battlement, wall of roots, and wall of blossoms with eldrazi as the win conditions (i only ran 4 since i also ran stuff like ancient stirrings, expedition maps, and eye of ugin that tutored them) I had alot of fun with the deck because the army of defenders often bought me enough time against more aggressive strategies while also ramping me.

    because unlike the fetch + shoockland combo you have the option of having the lands come in untapped, even if it costs you 2 life itll never come in tapped unless you decide to let it. These however, is solely based on your opening hand and subject to randomization, thus its less reliable. At least that is how i view it, i'd rather have the option and cost me life then have no option at all.

    this doesnt seem unrealistic, ive once found a foil akroma, angel of fury of Planar Chaos in one of these. Dont ask me how or why a pack foil would be in one, you just got to accept these triple packs are weird.

    Honestly, considering there is so much money being tossed around in this completely unregulated market i am not surprised at all of the "scumminess" happening. If you think all these businesses arent willing to get their hands on such info to get ahead of the market and if anyone thinks these businesses have some sort of "honor" then i'd say they are either naive or delusional. This whole backtracking on their statements trying to resolve it with a "quick fix" is a telltale sign of someone either lying or being told to lie and i personally don't believe this was some sort of gag (harmful or otherwise) played on this individual. Bottomline is multiple independent sources knew of the Eternal Masters set and did in fact act on it, to what extent it will probably be never known. I'm not quite sure what to take from this incident, personally it doesn't effect me much but i know now going forward not to look through rose colored glasses when it comes to mtg vendors and to be a little more cynical.

  • posted a message on Is this a fake Nykthos?
    Nykthos was in a clash pack ( i think the first) so i wouldnt be surprised if this is a result of that fact. This is because they are thought to be separate print runs and are physically different sometimes (similar to zendikar verdant catacombs.)
