Balance/power level aside, I've always wished that Manor Skeleton could have been an uncommon or rare as a 2/1 instead of a 1/1. A card like that would have been killer in Mono B aggro/The Gate alongside Gatekeeper of Malakir and Bloodsoaked Champion

I like that they are pushing vampires (my favorite tribe), but I'd hoped that we'd see them go for more of the control/aristocrat angle with them a la Bloodline Keeper, Gatekeeper of Malakir, and Olivia Voldaren.

This card actually seems profoundly disappointing to me for a mythic. If the discard didn't come with a cost (so you could more easily bonus off of madness) or if it had "and draw a card" at the end, or maybe even the ability to hit players, it would be exciting. As it stands, bleh. This feels a half step above an intro pack rare like Flameblast Dragon.

I tend to agree here. Seems like it would be fun in a casual madness deck but the activation cost plus the need to have a madness card in your hand really constricts its competitive usefulness.

Sinister Concoction seems perfect for Loam Pox control. Can't wait to test that thing out.

Not exactly sure about the first card because the first couple of times I played magic I could barely remember the rules let alone the cards, but two that I remember specifically are Uktabi Drake (off a Forest) and Ornithopter(off of Seat of the Synod).

There's a third image when I was checking on my phone.

This one actually looks more like it could be a Olivia then the 1st image.

I love that there's some neat lore going on and people in this thread are obtuse ly debating the similarities between "Mikaeus" and "Mikus," it's astonishing.

Almost as good as people convincing themselves that there is a new eternal format when there isn't one.

'Mikaeus' and 'Mikus' are both given (first) names and share no other connection other than similar phonetics. It's completely pointless speculation.

Given that one is the name of a major character from the world we are now returning to, and how similar the two names are, it would actually be a pretty silly mistake for wizards to have chosen that name if they aren't related somehow.

    Someone gets it ^

Going off this first article, Hanweir is seceding from Gavony due to some sort of malcontent. The "nail in the coffin," as it's described in the article, had something to do with an untitled force going against the Krallenhorde werewolves, which apparently turned out disastrous as evidenced by the witness who lost an arm. We can reasonably assume that, because Hanwier's casting off of Gavony, it was some force from Gavony or Thraben that mucked everything up. This feels like more evidence that the establishment is either losing hold of Innistrad or is actually becoming the big bad of the set, in line Clip Wings's flavor text.

I can't wait to see some more flavorage coming out of this.

Isn't that 99% of what this forum bases their "facts" off of? Laughing

Take out Hellkite for Liliana of the Veil and you literally have yourself the legacy version of this deck.

I was excited to see that they were having an eternal sale but became disappointed after seeing that nearly every one of the cards on sale was a foil, Alpha edition staple, or other some other "pimp" card.

Keranos is just plain old good against white decks, for it cannot be swords or containment priest'ed. As far as splashing green goes, I find it worse then straight UB ( budget limitations is not an issue for me either ). I find that just about everything can be handled with needle, echoing truth, and a show and tell package.

Well, I'll be happy to represent the diversity of opinion on this question, in my view the green splash for Abrupt Decay smooths out a lot of matchups, most especially Miracles. It keeps the deck running according to the usual gameplan, and doesn't get stuck with Entomb/Reanimate/Exhume plus Show and Tell in hand. As antihate, it's good for what ails you almost every time. I'm a huge fan of the green, but to each their own.

Regarding Flusterstorm, that's a rather good idea and it might be worthwhile to switch out Spell Pierce for it, at least in a green splash Reanimator since I'm bringing in Abrupt Decay against the hate cards. Then again, it doesn't hurt to remain flexible in those slots. Flusterstorm has more value as a defensive counter than offensive. I don't think we need that much defense. Possibly, with the advent of Invasive Surgery, we will.

Agree 100%. I guess my biggest concern with the card is that it seems to typically show up as a 1 of in most sideboards. Personally I'm not a huge fan of running singletons of soft, non catch-all counter spells as they are often drawn at the wrong time when they aren't included as multiples.
