You could accomplish this, however it would require you to run something like a Bazaar Trader in which case, you play the thief, steal an artifact, tap the trader, targeting yourself, then use the Conjurer's Closet and repeat this process.
For M13 prerelease, my LGS is going to set up a 2HG Sealed Tournament.
Despite reading pages like this one, I still have doubts to ask with specific relation to M13 cards and abilities, and I'd like to ask them in advance so that I know how to play accordingly when the Tournament will start.
Scenario 1:
I have an Exalted effect (such as Cathedral of War), and a single attacker, but my buddy has multiple attackers. Will Exalted pump my lonely attacker, or not?
Scenario 2:
My buddy has a Rhox Faithmender that doubles any lifelink effect, is this valid for him alone?
If I cast a Thragtusk do we gain 5 life points or 10 life points? I know for a fact that the only shared resource in a 2HG match is the total life points, so I expect that effects that refer them are shared as well (like Serra Avatar).
Scenario 3:
Quite like before, but involving an Elderscale Wurm on the battlefield. Is the team total "fixed" to 7 whatever happens?
Scenario 4:
Regarding Chandra, the Firebrand's ultimate: the "up to six players" wording allows me to target both members of my opposing team and deal a total of 12 damages to that team? Or they count as one for this purpose?
The same ruling will be applied to Jace, Memory Adept's abilities and for Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker's ultimate, I suppose. Not sure on Ajani, Caller of Pride's ultimate, tough.
Scenario 5:
Like Scenario 4, but involving Worldfire: what is each team's life point total after playing the spell?
but, long story short, you are two players, that share one life total. so a Flame Rift Deals a total of 8 damage to each team. Effects that say "you" effect only effect "you" not your team, or your partner's permanents or partner at all, with the exception of life total. in which, if "you" gain one life, it is then added to the teams life total. if any number of players gain one life as per a Reward the Faithful you can choose both you and your partner, moving your life total up by twice the amount.
the only scenario I am unsure about is the Worldfire example. Because each player's life total would become one. so your life total is one, your partner's life total is one, I would assume the team life total is now one. However, it might be two health in this case. the answer might be located somewhere in the FaQ
Yes, you would still lose the life. The ability triggers, draw one card and lose one life goes onto the stack and Maralen of the Mornsong 's effect prevents the drawing of a card, the life is still lost. If it said for each card drawn this way, it would not work. For example a Read the Runes with Maralen of the Mornsong out would cause no discards or sacrifices.
It won't target the creature but you may choose a creature with shroud or hexproof and attach a Sun Titan'd Ice Cage to it as long as that creature fulfills the aura's enchant clause and doesn't have something preventing the creature from being enchanted.
Right, I understand you can't use the Ice Cage to attach to a creature with protection from blue, even with a Sun Titan, because that creature can't have that enchantment on it at all. And it's specifically stated within the rules.
Just wanted to make sure I was fully understanding. I think this greatly improves Ice Cage's usefulness, assuming you have a way to put it onto the battlefield without casting it.
Auras target only when the aura spell is on the stack. You can't cast Holy Strength on a creature with shroud or hexproof.
An aura that enters the battlefield via some method other than resolving as a spell can be attached to a creature with shroud or hexproof:
303.4f. If an Aura is entering the battlefield under a player's control by any means other than by resolving as an Aura spell, and the effect putting it onto the battlefield doesn't specify the object or player the Aura will enchant, that player chooses what it will enchant as the Aura enters the battlefield. The player must choose a legal object or player according to the Aura's enchant ability and any other applicable effects.
So does this mean an aura card entering the battlefield by any activated or triggered ability, not actually cast can target a creature with shroud or hexproof? So I could Sun Titan an Ice Cage from my graveyard onto a creature with shroud/hexproof?
Fundamentally. Paragraph 3 contains an error though. You're correct in your conclusions about how the process of putting Auras on the battlefield, but you may have missed some legal choices.
The only objects that can target are spells, activated or triggered abilities on the stack. An Aura (such as Ice Cage) entering the battlefield from any other zone does not and can not target anything. This means that it can enchant a creature with Hexproof or Shroud.
The object the Aura can be attached to still has to be one the Aura can legally enchant, so you can't attach a black Aura to something with Protection from Black (for example).
The part about attaching Auras to creatures with Hexproof or Shroud confuses me, How/why does this work?
So, This is a very roundabout, impractical process, but I want to know if it's POSSIBLE. So, you start by Casting a Parallel Lives and a Liquimetal Coating Use the coating to turn Parallel Lives into an artifact until end of turn, and cast a Phyrexian Metamorph, targeting Parallel Lives. You now have a permanent artifact copy of Parallel Lives. Then cast March of the Machines you now have a 4/4 parallel lives. Then, you enchant your metamorph(4/4 parallel lives) with a Followed Footsteps, This would seem to me, you then get a token of this 4/4 at the beginning of your upkeep, then doubling due to the original parallel lives, doubling again, due to the creature parallel lives, resulting in 4 copies, and then, exponential growth. AND, if this works, as I think it does, you then throw in more ridiculousness to the combo. Mirror Gallery, Followed Footsteps, [insert legendary creature here]
I know, this is crazy, and TOTALLY impractical, I just want to know if it's POSSIBLE.
Okay, first, you might consider reading the two headed giant constructed format FAQ, they can be found here: http://www.wizards.com/wpn/Document.aspx?x=Magic_The_Gathering_TwoHeaded_Giant_Tournament_FAQ

Also, just for effect, not that it's necessary, just fun to watch your opponent's reaction, when you tell them you get untraceable amounts of tokens.
