I wonder if it just took this many recent printings for them to be okay, with a clone that now hits the most powerful type of card, the planeswalker.
I really like the impersonator, and I believe he will work wonders in this format.

The plate-mail seems good in version with sweeepers like Anger, however, with Ensouled Citadels he may not get to attack, if he is your artifact of choice, aside from scuttles you will want to possibly play the pyromancer version, which plays a lot more instants/sorc and therefor is easier to use the plate mail.

Regarding my Anger Sissors list above, it's easy to discount an Illusory Angel without an early Onithopter. But in testing shes been fine. Here is why:
Ornithopter sucks. Its so bad. It's barely a card. I have moved up to 4 copies of them in this deck because where this deck is so based on synergy, to make the Ornithopters playable we need more than Shrapnel Blasts and Ensoul Artifacts. Enter the Angel. A turn 3 Angel is very good. Will protect your walkers, and clocks nearly as fast as a stormbreath dragon. Turn 5 Angel is subpar, sure, but keep in mind, it comes with another card on that turn. A frosty or a blast, or an ensoul. She doesn't feel to bad on turn 5 if your already applying pressure.
Really i just needed a flyer that doesn't die to Anger, and since this deck doesn't work without Orni's I might as well play this other awful card, in hopes they can be ok together. They might become Ember Swollower or Izzet Charm or Hammer of Purphoros
I was thinking about Riptide Chimera Along with a more agressive version with Hypnotic Siren

This deck should be good against aggro, decent vs midrange, and still contains the nut draw of turn 2 5/5 flyer or indestructable. The version with Chief Engineer are wayy way to high variance for me. Servant ramps into any spell, and therefor makes cards like Cyclonic Rift and Mizzium Mortars excellent here.

EDIT: Just hovered over the Chimera again, can someone tell me how this is a bad draw back, wouldn't it only take a decent 2 drop enchantment, hopefully with an ETB ability to make this card much better than Illusory Angel. Hypnotic Siren is already a fine card to return to your hand, and bestow later on. Mogis' Warhound plus we have ensoul artifact anyway.

Played the version I posted a few days ago last night, and honestly, for a deck with Thassa, (i think she is amazing in this list) the prognostic sphinx's are really good. And I'm probably going to go up to 3 copies of the card.
My deck was very good against the agressive starts, and a double ensoul on turns 2 and 3 is very hard for aggro decks to deal with. Unless they are packing doomblades or what not.

The jaces seems like the most appropriate type of card draw, AoT is just so good right now with all these small red and g/w decks running around, I moved to 3 copies. Because the generator servant can ramp out turn 3 jaces, sphinxs getting one of these cards early seems important.
Otherwise gumming up the ground until I can swing with thassa, or ride Keranos to victory is a solid plan. The SB of Turn//burn and various counter spells make it not such a faceroll against Verdict.

I'd like someone to put some testing into my list potentially.

Here is a more controlling build

This is what im starting at. Basically i dropped the Engineers because they were just awful in multiples and was getting too many inconsistent hands. This deck has a plan B, and C, if you can't ride an early ensouled artifact, then try to get devotion online with thassa. She scrys to your good cards, and makes your guys unblockable. Frosty is really good early defense, and hits hard enough/breaks through Caryatids.
The Illusory Angels are only good with 3+ Orni's and a few Springleaf drums. They survive your anger. Everything in this list does, except the Generators and the Orni's.
Turn 3 prognostic sphinx is the truth, and the scuttles are still there.

P.S I played the cloudfin version, and it requires 2 mainboard bidents.

Hammer of Purph is also the truth in this deck. Lets you run without Orni's as you have extra Artifacts.

Incredibly good responses guys, i was going to try to play it in the mainboard until people realized the blowout. My suggestion was that, against creature decks, bring in staticasters and jest to combo out against monster decks and such.
What about turn to frog, does this card make it worth maindecking the staticasters? Turn/burn and Keranos seem like big pick ups also. I see how diluting mono-u affects its consistency.

Just think this card should see play more. How about the new Jace guys? Been playing him as a one of pretty easily. Works very well against demon decks.

I was in love with this deck for a while, Marauder is such a good card, that my empathy to use pain-seer and herald of torment brought me here. Thinking with Leeching Sliver and Mutavault the reach I once wanted could be there now, the 2 drop slot was always very weak so the Sliver seems okay!
Stain the Mind is also a huge pick up vs. verdict decks. Will get back to ya!

Polymorphist's Jest Seems really good for a SB, this deck now has a sweeper it can curve into, and just completely blow people out of the water with this on any fair block. I know the deck is tight, but personally I would run this over cyclonic rift, as it's an answer to pro-blue creatures, massive, creature...any creature.
I will definitely be testing it out as a 1-of MB for now.

Aetherspouts is another new option for us, I only see it being good vs. a pack rat army, and aggro decks, the question then is a turn 5 sweeper + set up worth it in this kind of deck. Against creatures with etb like Gray Merch and eidolon of blossoms it seems bad.

This and military intelligence (Which I think is a really easy sub for the second Bident of Thassa which is always bad right?)

I think some positive changes can happen for MUD. Jest seems like such a blow out, and if you could just squeeze Izzet Staticaster along with Keranos...

Yeah the bundle is really a good deal, if you buy the premium packs its about 12 packs for the whole premium set. So the base is like 10.00 but the premium cards are 20.00 anyway.

really hope this gets fixed, when countered by Dissolve this spell triggers the cascade effect of the Genesis Hydra, but it doesn't ever resolve and it fizzles. When cast for any amount, dissolve counters the hydra, but also his casting trigger. This is totally horrible when playing this card, as that's mainly how you bait counters with certain decks.

Post any other bugs you find here, someone can maybe forward this to someone who can do something about it.

Just wanted to add that the most fun I've had is with the Angelic Accord deck. Lots of removal, the life-lands, rhox faithmender, elixer, covenant of blood, lone missonary and sanguine bond. Very hard to deal with. Kills aggro dead.

also the mono blue and mono green decks are very good, as well as the goblin deck, u/r control and junk reanimator
these are my calls for the best decks before expansion

I started with the Selesnaya deck, played through until the end of Innistrad, then threw together Token themed deck, followed by a u/w control deck which was very shakey...then I made a Boros control deck, with the 3 sweepers and then settled on a izzet deck.

Will need much more testing to put together a competitive list thread, but g/w, g/b and u/r seem really strong to me.

Quicken + Anger of the gods was really sweet in the few competitive games I played.

Biggest problem is that you can't move through the menus with the left-stick. This is really stupid.
