Maybe in the sultai list that was posted earlier, but not in the current style most people are playing tapped lands are crippling in the early turns ans we usually don't get enough lands out to be comfrotablenpaying 2 mana to cycle.

More of using them as examples, my point being that some cards can still significantly increase in these new sets.

So between fatal push and Kolaghan's command is it possible that there is still money to be made in speculating on modern cards these large print run sets?

(Yes I realize that fatal push see's play in standard too)
(No I don't speculate for money, I just like to pick up cards in trades if I think they have potential to be played in modern)

    What about Destined//Lead?

Target creature gets +1/+0 and gains indestructible until end of turn.
    -----------------
Aftermath (Cast this spell only from your graveyard. Then exile it.)

All creatures able to block target creature this turn must do so.

The destined part seems to be irrelevant for the most part but the lead part could be a finisher against other decks that go horizontal. It could also act as a removal spell if you have a Stinkweed Imp out. I am tempted to try it out in the sideboard.

Also I agree with what @QwrtVV said

The core dredgevine list, while explosive, was leaving something to be desired in consistency

I just am thinking about before we had the big overhaul around SOI. We I think bringing in cathartic reunion, prized amalgam, and neonate all at once threw off what I was used to playing. I think the new cards were a lot of variables to bring in all at once. I am going to go back to my pre-SOI list and then build off of that. I like the current list a lot, but I think the two styles of play are really different and I want to try and bring back some of the consistency while keeping the extremely fast pace.

Ok I meant that combo would be more than good. What decks would play that combo? The cycle cost at 2 in modern seems rather high. Sure maybe control but I don't think there are too many green control decks and I feel like there are better options in the spot plan would use. But Hey, it's like a eight mana ancestral recall if you have three lands and loam!

Loam should go up with those new cycling duals

Life from the Loam, The Gitrog Monster, Seismic Assault, and probably a few others (Splendid Reclamation?) should all see some movement from this. Possibly other supporting pieces as well.

Fluctuator already had its spike, but IMO the odds of anything new breaking out in Legacy/Vintage is pretty low, so you're really banking on something breaking EDH. (Also, not Modern-playable, obviously derp.)

Wow, wow, and wow. Those are all really good ideas for speculation. I also like the idea of of a standard deck with splendid reclamation and cycle lands. I think I'll pick some up because worst case scenario I have a jank standard deck to play.

    Hi guys.

I don't plan to play any deck with Tarmogoyf soon, but right know I could have a playset for less than 340EUR (shipment included).

I fear that if I let it go now, I'll be facing a 400EUR (+shipment) price in a year or so...

I'm investing in caverns and fetches right now, but with what I already own (ktk fetches + arid mesas), I can play most of the decks I'd like, so why not cuting fetches budget for a goyf playset.

What do you think? Will tarmogoyf go back at 100/each again ?

It will get back there. Maybe not in a year, but almost certainly by the 2019 reprint. And before people say it, if it is NOT in MM4, it will go through the roof. If you have the money to drop on cards, I would do it
I was told by the owner of my local LGS that wizards said this was the last modern masters.

I was wondering why the foil multiplier on some cards is so small.

Example: Noble Hierarch is around $60 non-foil for either printing, but the original Conflux foils are around $68. Foil MM2 bobs are basically the same price as non-foils, but I assume that one is due to the general dislike of MM2 foiling.

With Noble though, does this mean the non-foil price is too high, the foil price is too low, that the set has a poor foiling process (Afaik Conflux foiling is fine) or that another printing has so much preference (In this case the Judge Promo) that is completely tanks the price of other foils?

Mostly curious as someone new to following price trends and trying to buy things at the right time.

Conflux is kind of an outlier, in the alara block they did all foil packs that were sold at a higher price which resulted in foils from the block being worth significantly less.

Another interesting point: MM17 Snapcaster Mage has more value than Innistrad printing. There's a couple factors at play here - how much Innistrad is available compared to MM17 in terms of total print run? Also, how much of the popularity of MM17 printing is due to art vs hologram?

Any way you slice it, it's one of the first, if not the first, card that has a reprint more valuable than the original. Since I've only played since MM15 release, I'm sure others will inform me of examples I am unaware of.
I'm assuming it's because snapcaster is usually played a said 4 of. A lot of people are opening one or two in sealed and want a playset of the same copy. So the people who are buying the older copies are mostly people who are just taking advantage of lower card prices and aren't opening packs. If you look at cards that are a one of or see little play like linvala or damnation the original copies are still more valuable than the new versions.

I agree with soracak, the no cast trigger is a let down, but the mechanic seems to be a slight step up from unearth. I guess it will come down to whether or not any of the cards have good abilities for being a more permanent option to unearth. Relentless rats is pretty good for the current slot and dregscape zombie seems to be decent as a 2/1 because he will die most of the time anyway, so 1 mana isn't all that bad of an investment. I guess an embalm card I would play have to be 3 or less (preferably less) with a decent body or evasion to allow it to stick around or chip away. Probably a 1/4 embalm 1B would be decent, could hold up to stop a bit of damage and actively recur the gravecrawlers whenever you want. 1B 1/1 Flying or deathtouch would also be decent to whittle damage or act as a stall.

So theoretically if magic were to "Die" as in players go angry with wizards and stop buying packs so wizards slowing cuts prize support and stores stop hosting anything other than a $5 tournament every once in awhile, would prices even go down that much? I mean yes you would have the absolute panic sell off but most people I know don't really care about the prices, they just want to play the game. I know a lot of people that have formally quit but still keep eternal decks to will play with friends when they have the chance. Honestly if wizards announced the "End" of magic I think prices would hit what a lot of people say they "Should" be at because everyone would sell off their extra cards and hold onto their favorite decks. That being said I don't think we are near the end of Magic any time soon. Like Gost mentioned people are always saying it's the end but really that hardly accounts for a percent of the player base. It's just that the paranoid doomsayers try to tell everyone it's the end, while people who don't think anything is going to change aren't going to say anything because why point out no change (Yes I realize the game can change and the direction formats are headed can change but I mean change as in death of the game).

Trying to sell a FOIL World Breaker on ebay, among other things to raise cash for MM3 cards - some guy offered $12 Aus ($9.50)USD shipped do you think thats fair or not? ALso have a signed Demonic tutor (see attachment; Whats a fair price for these? I realise I've just asked about standard and legacy.... I hope that's not an issue, I trust the perspectives of the people here.
Just looking at tcg player and ebay recent sold listing the world breaker offer seems like a good one. Most of the recent sold listings the US range from 8.50-9.00. As for the Demonic tutor I believe there is a thread for pricing special cards somewhere else. I'll update this post if I can find it.

How did your various removal spells feel? Deadly alure is interesting but also incredibly good against stuff like boggles. I really like the idea of removal that doesn't target creatures but I feel like it's more of a sideboard card.

Merfolk isn't a bad loss either. I lose to almost any creature based decks that build (Allies, Coco, merfolk). Do you guys think damnation would help with those matchups at all?

Tarmogoyfs seem to be rebounding. Last night I remember them being a solid 75 and nownthey are back up to 80. Everything ranked hard but it will rebound for sure in the long run. Most people are getting uneasy with the way the prices fell so if you want stuff get it before everyone recovers from their shock. I think now is the time to buy boxes if you want to hold them for future drafting or want an incredibly promising investment.
