She looks like a vampire from Ixilan, has a conquistador vibe to her.

Hopefully they reveal at least one card that we don't already know about.

That would have been all of them if not for the leaks. If they reveal a card we already know about, I'm not going to complain because that's when we were supposed to see it. Shame on the leakers for betraying Wizards' trust and trying to steal their thunder.

While I agree with the core concept you are getting at, it does seem like we are being "punished" in a way since the Dragon deck was leaked months ago. By this time, we would have seen an official release of a card from SDCC, but instead we got information about a set that releases close to Christmas, the new Un-Set. The stolen page of Ixalan, the next actual set, was not officially confirmed in anyway by a spoiler card from SDCC as well, despite its near release as well. This may be the new MO for Wizards to try and curb leaks: Ignore the leaks, don't release a card in order to prevent corroboration, and stick to the two weeks in advance official release.

If the dragons are to be believed, only one was strictly tribal support, Ur-dragon. Ramos does his own cool mana ramp thing, and the kamigawa one does some odd not-vindicate effect. Taigam is more traditionally dragon tribal, and he is an off commander, which will be interesting to see if this pattern hoods for the other groups or not.
The non-dragon-tribal focus of the alternative commanders and offcolor legends allow them much more flexibility if you want to use them in a non-tibal deck, tho.

True, I'm going to build a dumb door to nothingness deck out of Ramos myself for that reason. My comment above was more in answer to the other person asking if all three face commanders were tribal.

For the life of me, I don't see how Edgar Markov is partly white without some big creative contortions or retcons.

He struck a blasphemous deal with an archdemon to create an unholy plague of black/red bloodsuckers in his image. When his grandson came out as partly white in Dark Ascension, Sorin's new partial-white identity was justified in his very card preview article as representing his betrayal of his vampire species, his defiance of Edgar Markov in creating Avacyn for the greater good, for which Edgar Markov banished and disowned him. Even back then, these boards were conflicted over that leap in Sorin's color identity.

I'm not saying Edgar Markov can't be partly white. I'm saying that he shouldn't be. It will take some bending over backward to justify it creatively--especially since it appears that white was added just because marketing, not creative, demanded it.

White can also embody order as a quality, he brought order and structure to Innistrad by organizing a group of fellow leaders, helping them ascend to vampires, and made pacts and deals among them. Heliod was the leader of the gods of Theros, did things his way through structure and order (white qualities) but was also crazed and murdered Elspeth for threatening his order. Elesh Norn is the most orderly and structured Preator of the 5, has strict rules and orders to follow (white qualities) but ordered genocide and mass conversion of an entire plane of beings.

Edgar is sadistic, evil, organized, established rules and structure, and orders his followers to kill and subjugate. He is a great example of WRB.

White doesn't have to mean good.

Wizards: "Let's talk about the face card of a new product in an auditory release, and not provide a visual image! This makes sense!"

I want to build a really bad 5 color Ramos deck with all of the guild gates and that land that wins if you have all 10, door to nothingness and progenitus to just see what happens.

I actually proxied him and have been playing him with my group for the past couple weeks. I built him as multicolor spell tribal essentially with some voltron elements like steel of the godhead and behemoth sledge/mage slayer. Lots of charms, sunforger, card draw (sphinx rev, rhystic study, sylvan library, etc).

I had gates with maze's end, but it made his mana too slow and opted to drop them for basics to fuel borderposts and tango lands. It runs okay, one shots super easy and gets nutso turns with vedalken orrery/leyline of anticipation, can be fairly slow though.

Good point, even making a dumb deck I shouldn't cripple myself too much. I just think the ability to have this Dragon Engine "charge his laser" and then out of nowhere drop door to nothingness with amulet of vigor on the board and then just point to someone and say "bang" would be hilarious to me, especially if I was left unchecked for that long lol

Four very played out boring tribes, no clerics as I was hoping, I might just give this one a pass, despite how much I like tribal.

On the other hand, the dragon deck has Ramos, which gives some attention to Mercadia, my favorite neglected MTG setting, so maybe I will pick it up.

So with Bolas being Grixis-coloured and him being one of the strongest spell-casters around, does anyone expect more cards that are references to him?

A high probably, and worst case we will probably see yet another cruel ultimatum reprint. Augur of Bolas and Disciple of Bolas are both Wizards as well that are cheap easy reprints.

Guys, don't even know what your talking about, found this "evasive maneuvers" list around mid May

    https://web.archive.org/web/20170605115317/http://magic.wizards.com/en/products/commander-anthology

That's commander anthology, the four reprinted decks from past commander sets. These new ones are Commander 2017.

Serra would like a word about that, he basically strong armed her into collapsing her entire plane into an energy source for his long term anti-Yawgmoth plan to "save her people" from the problem he brought to her doorstep lol

Is that how it went? I recall it being that Serra left the plane to its fate (because of said Phyrexian corruption Urza brought to its doorstep), Radiant took over, and the combined factors of Serra being gone and Radiant's insanity led to the plane's inevitable collapse. At least by collapsing it into an energy source, he could make use of it.

True, he didn't force her to do it directly, my bad on that. He definitely took advantage of the situation he created with his careless planeswalking around during the war. I guess the point I was trying to make is more along the lines of what I tell my 5E players: "Lawful Good doesn't always mean Lawful Nice" He may have been playing the hero, but he was pragmatic at best and careless at worst with how he approached his vendetta against Yawgmoth lol

Back to the topic if him getting a card: if he does get a card, let's all hope it's better than the time he was hiding in plain sight as Blind Seer!

Probably a total long shot, but any way to spin Urza being designed as a UBR design instead of a WUBRG design? Was there any point in the story where his color alignment was more UBR?

Mishra is far more likely in those colors. Ursa was always a positive force even at the worst of times and damages he caused were always more of a side effect than actual intent.

Also, there is an amazing short story of a time where he summoned a Shivan Dragon, gave it sentience and released it to "observe what it would do". When the dragon came back to complain it wasn't strong enough, he gave it more mana and release it again for observation. He then recalls it one last time, and gives it even more mana, which the dragon promptly uses to break free of Urza's control, torch his laboratory and fly away to conquer the countryside. Urza just shrugs and goes to his next project without bothering to solve the problem he created. He may not be black aligned, but he definitely didn't clean up all of the messes he created lol

When he went crazy for a bit (which happened frequently) he was more Grixis, but more often he would have been Izzit or Jeskai. Green is pretty much the only color he never really used much of, he bounced between cunning savior figure and out of control God with the turning of the tide.

I've only seen one picture of a bunch of Japanese text and a generic picture of a Commander box. Where is there a picture of wizards hanging out that people are debating about? Sorry, I appear to have missed it.

The now locked other thread has a translation showing the Kanji for red/black/blue mana symbols next to "Wizaado" also in Kanji. Also pages in has images of the card sleeves which show the magic circle.

Interesting that U and G got the short end of the stick....

Even if i usually long for new green and blue cards (i want fatties), i'm happy with this decision. Blue and green are the strongest colors in the format, so they donìt get left behind so much.

By the way, they will print 3 commander for every tribe? That means 3 mardu vampires and 3 grixis wizards?

Dragons has 3 "confirmed" 5 color new dragons (Ramos/Ur-Dragon/Odachi), and 2 new other dragons commanders (Wasatoria and Taigim), so I would imagine a similar spread in the other decks.
